MLB 2012 Postseason

Also, Leyland made some good plays by putting pinch-runners in for Young and Peralta (Danny Worth made a play at SS that Peralta may not have made), replacing Coke with Albuquerque, and putting Don Kelly in at DH to replace Young.

Tough break for Oakland. Both games were very close. It's tough to say they had home field advantage when they go down 2-0 before their first home game though. Weird scheduling by MLB.

Putting Coke in in the first place was a questionable move though.

Don't put it past this scrappy team to take 3 in front of their home crowd.

Oh yeah. It's not over by any means. It just doesn't seem right that the higher seed should have to play the first 2 games on the road in a 5 game series.

No doubt...it's always much better to play at home, and the Tigers have not been a very good road team this year. If I were an As fan I would not be happy they started playing two on the road while having home-field advantage. The As should have played at home the first two games, followed by two at Detroit, and Game 5 back in Oakland if necessary.

Very true, but the left-hander was the logical choice in that situation. Perhaps they need to re-evaluate his value to the team in the off-season.

I agree ...

Speaking of Logical .... Beniot would be Logical choice in the 8th, but we all know of his penchant for giving up a HR ball in the 2nd half of the season.

The Tigers win the game by scoring 5 runs and not a single run was scored on a hit.

1st run on a ground out
2nd and 3rd runs on an error
4th run on a wild pitch
5th run on a sac fly

Yep, good old fashioned National League baseball! ;)

My sister is complaining as well, at her boyfriends house and he has the local CableSystem and they have the channel, but ONLY with the Box, which he doesn't have.

Sounds like a stupid question but couldnt they air the Tigers game on over the air tv? I mean if people in Detroit do not have the channel, how would they watch the game? Could you imagine all the complaints about not being able to see the game?

Complements of MLB, the Tigers and A's played the LATE game last night and play the EARLY game the next day .... good thinking Bud.

Then also due to his instance of getting the extra WC in this year, the A's who have HFA, start on the road ?
Along with that, the A's home games end up being during the week instead of the W/E, thus making it a LATE night game during the weeknight, when it should not have been.

I dont get that either. They play the late game and then the early game. If they were going to make Oakland go on the road, why didnt they just flip-flop the game? Instead of having Detroit at 12pm, why not have the Cards game on instead?Have the game at 12 or 1pm and then have the Tiger game on at 3:30pm? At least they would have a couple of hours rest.
Benoit.....ugh

I see the Regular Season Benoit has shown up.

What was that...a walk...allow two bases to be stolen...wild pitch....and a HR? He must be cookin' because he's serving meatballs out there. The bottom half of our lineup has to come up big. Go Tigers.

There lucky they won. Benoit would have had to hitch hike to Oakland if they didnt get the win. Bad job by him today.

No, but seeing a man kissing balls is not something I care to see; I won't be hitting the skip-back button on the Tivo. :D

LMAO!!!
