I am guessing this goes back to last season. Should have had that knee looked at. This makes no sense. Anyway, Not sure what deal could be made, It's tough to replace a .330 AVERAGE AND 100 plus RBI..Not good, and certainly goes ight along with the lack of any signigificant moves made this off season..Hey Fielder is still out there.. :)

Reports were that he did it while doing shuffling drills last week.

Fielder would not want to be a DH nor would Cabrera.

Cabrera can play third..I was actually just fantasy thinking out loud, I really would not expect that..In reality, I suspect a trade is coming. Personally, I'd love to work a deal with the Mets. I know Wright could be had, and the if you could get the Mets to eat a few million of his contract its a good solid plan. Hell at 15 mill he may be a bargain batting behind Miggy. and what a 13 mil club option for 2013.. Just a thought.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury avoided arbitration Tuesday, the team announced.

According to a league source, he gets a one-year contract of $8.05 million, more than tripling his 2010 salary. According to general manager Ben Cherington, the two sides did not discuss a multi-year deal as part of the negotiations. Ellsbury is represented by agent Scott Boras.
Boston Red Sox, Jacoby Ellsbury have deal, not David Ortiz - ESPN Boston

I thought Wright was like 34, but when I looked, he's 29 ish, seems like he's been there forever.
He hit about .250 last year, but has a history around .300 +, I think he's been injured a lot though, something I'm sure they would like to avoid, though they took a chance with Ordonez and that worked out ok til recently, last 2 years.

Would not make to much sense but it sure would be fun, if the tigers could sign fielder to a short term deal :)

Scott boras and mike illitch seem to have a good business relationship as they have ironed out intresting deals in the past

Scott Boras is known for only 2 things. Long term contracts and long term contracts WITH no-trade clauses. I still see him going to the Nationals.

Apparently Fausto Carmona Isn't Really Fausto Carmona!

That Tribe pitcher who refuses to remove the hologram from the underside of his hat? The one who was really dominant for a year or two and has fallen back to maddeningly mediocre? The one that wears No. 55?

Yeah, his name isn't Fausto Carmona, just so you know. It's apparently Roberto Hernandez Heredia.

Reports have Carmona, er, Heredia being arrested in the Dominican Republic for using a false identity.

Via ESPN reports and Hardball Talk:

Jorge Arangure of ESPN.com passes along word from reporter Yancen Pujols that Indians right-hander Fausto Carmona was arrested in the Dominican Republic and is being charged with using a false identity.According to Pujols, police arrested Carmona—whose real name is apparently Roberto Hernandez Heredia—while he was leaving the American consulate after renewing his visa.

Nothing new. This runs rampant in the Dominican Republic. From little leagues to MLB. Look at the Marlins Juan Oviedo..aka "Leo Nunez".

And now they're saying "Fausto Carmona" might be 31, not 28!!!!! Oh no!!!! Wonder if the Indians have any legal rights to terminate or lessen his contract now?

Yes they do because the Marlins did it with "Leo". Carmona now have some serious issues getting a visa to play here. They went really hard at "Leo" to the point where I think the MLB suspended him indefinitely.

LOL.....I don't think he ever did, but his age was always up for debate.

One of the most beloved Red Sox of all time...........I LOVED El Tiante!

Bill, did you ever see the ESPN documentary, "Lost son of Havana"? It's about Luis Tiant's return to Cuba after being gone for more than 46 years... Here is the trailer.

One of the best baseball documentaries I have ever seen.... won quite a few awards.

Thank you, I did see that.

Luis Tiant will go down as one of the most affable athletes in Boston history!
