Matt Kemp became the first 30/30 guy this year. Now let's see if he can become a member of the 40/40 club with 1 month left in the season. He will get 40 stolen bases, but I think he may fall short of 40 HRs

Kemp's Current NL Stats:

101 RBIs - 1st
31 HRs - 1st
.578 SLG - 2nd
33 SB - 3rd
.323 BA - 4th
.970 OPS - 4th
82 Runs - 6th
.394 OBS - 6th

If these are not MVP numbers, then I do not know what is

Red Sox-A's FINALLY an official game! Sox up 3-0...bottom of the 5th.

Sox going for the DH sweep, after starting Game 1 at 12 noon ET

NL Cy Young should also go to Kershaw

16 Wins - 1st
207 K - 1st
1.02 WHIP - 2nd
189 IP - 3rd (fewer starts than the two ahead of him)
2.51 ERA - 3rd
.212 AVG - 3rd

Was game 1 delayed too ?
I thought I saw earlier that they were up like 9-2 in the 8th.
That must have been the 1st game.

Game 1 was delayed twice, and the Sox won 9-3.

Irene isn't supposed to hit here until tomorrow morning, but we've been getting off and on downpours all day.

The Dodgers are only 3 games out of last place. It is possible for a last place team to have both the Cy Young winner and the MVP. Has that ever happened before?

The Boston Oakland situation is inconvenient in that there would be no practical way to make it up during the season, but it mught have to be made up if the season ednded witth a 1/2 game difference between the REd Sox and Yankees.

Game 2 had been scheduled for a 5:00 PM start, but started instead at 6:50.

Many times a very good player that should win the MVP, DOESN'T because the team didn't make the playoffs, well see.

Especially if they happen to play on the west coast. It is just a fact that west coast teams do not get the same coverage, be it east coast bias or the fact that the games start when the east coast is sleeping

Red Sox sweep the DH, and are now two games ahead o the Yankees (but they are tied in the loss column- Sox are 82-51 and Yankees ae 78-51). It's the first time since 2007 that the Sox have been 30 games over .500.

The Sox need to go 18-11 the rest of the way to finish with the coveted 100 wins.

The Sox are now off until Tuesday, when the Yankees come to town.

Dodger,
I believe Andre Dawson won the MVP while playing for the last place Cubs.

But how many last place teams have had both a Cy Young winner and MVP?

They are OFF on a SUNDAY ?

Bet that doesn't happen very often.

And he is leading the league in wins while playing for a team with a losing record. Imagine how many more wins he would have if the team could actually score runs for him.

I think King Felix won the Cy with like a 13-12 record, imagine that !
You know going in that your not getting many runs in Seattle.
