Marlins fire Fredi Gonzalez

Yeah, uh, except that Girardi was feuding with Loria DURING the 2006 season (his only season with Florida), he was fired October 3, 2006, and he was named manager of the year a month and a half after that.

So yes, I guess I conveniently forgot that Girardi was manager of the year WHILE he was feuding with Loria...because he wasn't.

Facts are your friend. ;)

Sandra

SANDRA...nobody has denied he was not feuding. Hell, I MENTIONED IT. He feuding with Loria or not was not gonna make a difference in the manager of the year voting.

THAT is a fact.

You have NO CLUE what you are arguing.

FACT...... regardless of whether he was feuding, getting along was NOT gonna have bearing on the manager of the year for 2006 in the National League.

FACT..... Loria has never OVERPAID for neither a free agent NOR manager.

OPINION with no backbone....that Jeffrey Loria is baseball's version of Dan Snyder. Which comes BACK to the fact that you do not have a clue what you are arguing about.

;)

Oops, here is some backbone, according to Sports Illustrated. They're using different criteria than the one you decided to use.

Clue yourself in... ;)

The report was based on five factors: Team's success or failure on the field, willingness to spend money to improve the team, stability and capabilities of the front office and management, amenities at the team's venue and club's culture and interactivity with fans.

Bobby is a great finder of talent and a great regular season manager but he is horrible in a short series. You do not bring in Charlie Leibrandt (Game 6 in 91 and 92) to pitch to a right hand hitting batter two straight World Series, lose them both, and expect to be called a great manager.

Brave lost 91 World Series because Lonnie Smith fell for a decoy and committed a baserunning blunder. End of story.

Braves lost in 92 in 6 Games to the Blue Jays because the Jays were a superior team.

Take no pleasure in admitting that then Jays were the better team as a 40+ year Braves fans but that's the facts.

The reason Bobby has 1 World Series and Joe Torre has 4

2 Simple Words Mariano Rivera.

Bobby's a HOF Manager day 1 upon becoming elgible.

Freddi G is the definitive Frontrunner for the Job though no question.

If the Marlins were not putting up decent win totals the last few years, Loria would arguably be considered the Matt Millen of baseball.

Everytime a manager seems to have something going on, he cans them.

Other than the Orioles, no other team could use an ownership change more than the Marlins. Look what that did for the Blackhawks.

AGAIN...

FACT.... Loria has NEVER over spent on a free agent or a manager. Snyder has done that with just about every big name coach and/or player he has signed.

FACT.... Girardi was gonna be manager of the year REGARDLESS of the relationship he had with Loria...he did the best job with what he had. He credentials AGAIN, speak for themselves. Even BEFORE he signed with the Marlins, Girardi was probably THE BIGGEST managing prospect in all of baseball.

FACT... the team HAS BEEN succesful INSPITE of the little he has spent.... so that kills THAT point on how successful the team has been. When the team was STILL in the hunt in September, the team DID pick-up key piece for a playoff drive, so long as they were not over spending on free agents. The Front office in charge of player operations is considered one of the BEST in the ALL of baseball. All the young talent both home grown and traded for(especially in the minors)....have proven that every single year....so that kills THAT theory about the Marlins 'front off capabilities'. The ONLY things they have right there is the teams venue, which is terrible.

So before you go to a article you had to go digging for because you wanna be your usual contradictory self....do some real homework..and REALLY clue yourself in.;)

Bobby is more than likely....a Hall of Fame manager. He will also be the manager that had a bunch of loaded teams but only managed to win 1 World Series. Those Braves teams are alot like the Buffalo Bills teams that went to the Super Bowl 4 times and never won.

NO....Matt Millen was notrious for not making smart moves. Loria has just been cheap.

...BIG DIFFERENCE....

Loria has made some very cheap moves that have worked out due to the excellent baseball personnel he has.

Believe it or not, being condescending does not make you any more right...except of course in YOUR mind. It just establishes that facts alone will not support your argument. So just keep belittling others for having a different opinion. Believe me, that says more about you than it does about me or anyone else you belittle.

You can develop your own little set of criteria if you like and decide Loria does not fit into that criteria, that's your prerogative. Others disagree.

The criteria where they belong side-by-side is that they are both terrible owners. Perhaps in different ways, but both terrible nonetheless. ;)

You are funny....LOL! The facts are there. But, as usual, you try to either change the subject or convolute with a whole bunch things that have nothing to do with the subject....like whether Loria and Girardi were getting along....when it was already established.

I have disproved the critieria of this article with facts....and though there IS NO DOUBT that Loria is cheap....he is NO WHERE near in the same category as Snyder and the comparison is apples and oranges. Again, Loria maybe cheap, but very few of his moves have remotely been as close to being considered stupid like Snyders.

And condescending....?! Really? ..."pot meet kettle, kettle meet pot...."
