I put my feedhorn cover on today. Keeps the polorizer, and other connections out of the rain and snow. However my norsat is a long style lnb and for it to fit inside, I had to use a right angle wave-guide adapter. Well my quality has dropped from 77 to 75-76.

Is this normal?

An SQ drop of 1 or 2 points is very negligible and shouldn't be noticed in loss of any channels. Inserting a line amplifier in most systems will degrade your signal as it amplifies both noise and signal while introducing additional amplification noise.

I lose more than that when installing the feed horn cover!

an inline amp probly wont increase quality. they will however increase the signal strength. for a 1 or 2 point decrease in quality i wouldnt even touch things. id grab a beverage and watch some tv.

crackt out,.
