LeBron would consider playing in Europe for about $50 million per season!

I will make an easy prediction:

ESPN will make the "LeBon goes to --blank--" speculative story the biggest media barrage EVER in sports history!

These next two years are going to make Favre-gate, Spy-gate, Vick, OJ and Steroids stories pall in comparison. I am really starting to dread this....

To me it would be a sin if LeBron left the Cavs. He's a hometown kid who happens to be the best player on the planet who's worshipped, and has a great chance to bring a championship to said hometown.

I agree Bill.

The best thing to happen for both parties would be for LeBron to stay forever here in Cleveland and win many Championships. If LeBron stays in this city and wins a Championship, they would build a statue of him and he would be immortalized in this city forever. The aggravating thing though, is that since no one knows if he will stay for sure, it will be analyzed to death over the next 2 years.

The worst case scenario would be if the Cavs fail to win a Championship in these next two years AND then LeBron leaves to go onto win a Championship somewhere else. This city would be demoralized. On the contrary, the only way this city could stomach LeBron leaving is if they get their Championship first.

HD, did you see what I thought about Cavs/Wizards?

You call it competitive; I call it lopsided.

Yeah. I can see how you can call it lopsided. I don't think the Cav's ever take this match-up lightly though. Each game between the two always seem to be hard fought. The Cavs/Wiz games are always very physical and also very emotional (remember the Papa John's incident and the Jay-Z song?).

Yeah right, but it's ok to make unfounded accusations.

I am all for a good debate, but flaming isn't necessary. If you or anyone else doesn't like my opinion, well that's fine, you don't have to, just like I don't have to agree with anyone else. But calling me a dummy is not necessary.

Fair enough, and I wasn't insinuating you are a dummy so I'm sorry if it came across that way. BUT, this trying to tear down what the Patriots have accomplished this decade (not just you, by the way) is getting soooooooooo old! Were they caught cheating against the Jets last year? Yes they were. Were they punished it for it? Yes they were. Was I ashamed and pissed off at the Patriots because it severly tarnished their image/legacy (right or wrong)? You're damn straight I was! With all that said, what else in this overblown story has been PROVEN???? They were proven innocent of the Super Bowl walk through spy allegations. Why was THAT swept under the carpet?

I'm just saying they were caught cheating, but IMO they weren't punished enough.

But that's not this thread, so I'll move on.

You forget one person that LeBron is "tight" with . . . Jay-Z . . . yes, the part owner of the Nets who has the money to spend on LeBron . . . I think like A-Rod, LeBron's deal with whomever is going to spin some heads in the NBA

Counterpoint:

LeBron could never stomach the possibility of playing with Yi Jianlian, the overrated Vince Carter, and a Lopez brother.

That is a roster good enough in a video game, not real basketball!

What's the saying?........ Something about a dead horse?.......

He will be leaving Cleveland as soon as his contract is up, probably not Europe, but a team that has players so he can win a championship.

IMO, Cleveland has enough talent to win it next year (as long as Delonte comes back). In fact, I'm on record picking them to win it all next year.

My reasons:

1. They have the best player on the planet.

2. Because of their size they are a tough matchup for a lot of teams (They were BY FAR!!! the Celtics toughest out in the playoffs)

3. With all the new additions to this team, they were starting to mesh down the stretch last season. Going through training camp will only fortify a more cohesive unit.

4. They had a very good draft with J.J. Hickson, Sasha Kahn, and Darnell Jackson (Kahn and Jackson will probably be projects. But both have upside, especially with their Kansas pedigree).

5. They are a very deep team, especially in the frontcourt.

James is not a good jump shooter. they wont win.

He's right.

We did this topic a month ago.

LOOK AT THE NETS' ROSTER!!

LeBron's better off posterizing those guys than passing to them.

Frankly Sabres, I've heard every reason why LeBron is leaving Cleveland and no legitamite reason why he would stay. As I said earlier, this topic is going to be beat to death a number of times in the next two years.

Maybe I can save everyone some time and the hassle of creating 50 more Favre-like threads. Please read my summary.....

Popular reasons why LeBron leaves:

1. LeBron likes New York.
2. LeBron is friends with Jay-Z.
3. LeBron could possibly make more money in advertising in a larger market.
4. Every other team besides the Cavs have better role players to help him win a championship.
5. LeBron can make $50 million a year in Europe.

My reasons why LeBron stays:

1. The Cavs can offer LeBron more money than any other NBA team due to the Larry Bird Clause.
2. LeBron was born and raised in NE Ohio.
3. All of LeBron's family live and are comfortable here in NE Ohio.
4. LeBron just completed a MONSTROUS addition onto his mansion in Bath, Ohio.
5. Owner Daniel Gilbert is committed to winning and will spend to make that happen.
6. The Cavs just built a state of the art practice facility halfway between LeBron's house and Quicken Loans Arena.
7. LeBron is a big fish in a small pond in Cleveland.
8. If LeBron goes to a larger metropolitan city, he'd just be another big fish in a big pond.
9. Because despite what outsiders think, Cleveland is actually a nice place to live!
10. Because LeBron say's so! “I'm dedicated to bringing a championship to this city,” James told Mark “Munch” Bishop on ESPN 850 WKNR. “I’m bringing a parade to this city. I love this city. I love Northeast Ohio. Right now I can’t see myself going anywhere else.”

James is not a good jump shooter. they wont win.

Huh?! Is basketball even broadcast in Pittsburgh?! I admit, James was in a bit of a slump from the field during last years playoffs, but that surely isn't normally the case. If you've seen any numerous games during the regular season or even the '07 playoffs, surely you would know better.
