Iverson rumored trade to the Pistons!

OK, you convinced me. Iverson will bring the Pistons further than Billups did. Not going to be easy, with all the team accomplished with Billups at the point the bar has been set pretty high. But hey, Mr. Practice is a league MVP and everything.

Sunny times ahead....

OH Geez....

The Pistons were looking to shake up the line-up. THEY HAD to make a trade, THE ONLY PLAYER OF MAJOR VALUE was Billups...so they made the move. THEY, as in the Pistons, thought they have a good enough PG to distribute in the pill on their roster.....THEREFORE, they made a trade for points and excitement....PERIOD.

Right now, outside of Manu and Paker, this is THE most exiting backcourt in the East and a notch just below of the previously mentioned duo. YOU may think they took a step back, but from what I have read most of the guys that report the NBA, who might I add, have a little more info than you, me or anyone else in here...tend to think both needed to make a move and both made the right move for multiple reasons.

Obviously, your agenda is being ANTI-Iverson and PRO-Billups....you said it yourself by stating he was 'one of my favorite players' and stressing the whole 'practice' issue. So, with that bias brought out in the open, wait till he plays a game or two....it might help your argument.

First of all, Manu and Parker are in the West.

Not fair to make a judgement either way off a game or two. The proof will come in the end of the season record, and, of course, how the Pistons do in the playoffs. The most exciting backcourt, including a league MVP, should be able to improve on that 15-5 playoff series record the last six years with that boring Billups guy at the point.

24 points for A.I. in his Motown debut?
You called it...24 for Iverson tonight. Of course, the Pistons LOST their first game of the year with Rodriguez Iverson at the guard, while Billups had a workman like 15-points and led the Nuggets to VICTORY over Dallas.

Paul, you're probably right about the cap...just hope the Pistons don't morph into a different ball club.

It wasn't Iverson's fault they lost last night. (He was the only player that was .500 from the field, and he went 13-13 at the charity stripe. When was the last time any Piston's player went to the line 13 times?) Cold shooting, an old Piston bugaboo, caught them last night. I liked what I saw out of Iverson last night, a little out of control a few times, but I'd rather err on the aggressive side. It will take a little while for the rest of the players to get used to his style of play.

Second of all.....I KNOW they are in the West. I meant to say they will have the most exciting backcourt in the East and 2nd most in the league BEHIND Manu and Parker. But I guess your will stick to hating on Iverson and love-festing on Billups....to each his own.

OH GOD....we have a prophet..... The Celtics were bound to lose as well as the Pistons. The fact that is was the night Iverson played was coincidence at best. I mean now that we are thinking that way....the Pistons will now barely get in and the Nuggets will likely breeze into the playoffs as #2 seed, maybe even a #1 and go more than likely to the finals of the Western Conference....

...I mean seeing that the predictions have come to bare fruit....:bow:bow:bow

I predict that Detroit loses another 10-20 games this year !

Pistons are also playing 11 deep. I assume both teams will tighten that up as the season progresses. I think 60 wins for anyone this season will be a tough accomplishment. The NBA is deeper this season than any in recent history.

Pistons with AI: 0-2
Pistons with Billups: 4-0

Nuggets with Billups: 2-0
Nuggets with AI: 1-3

That boring old Billups is now 6-0
The former MVP is 1-5

Hmmm......

And your sample size is 2 games out of 82. Detroit lost to the best team in the NBA and the defending NBA Champs away and ALSO away to NJ Nets. Denver won against 2 mediocre teams AT HOME. Please come back to me when then season is over.

Totally agree, the first week or even month is not what really matters anyway. What is going to matter is the playoffs, where we're all expecting the League MVP to improve on the 15-5 series record the Pistons have fashioned the last six years with the non-MVP running the point.

The Celtics game was in Auburn Hills last night.
