Something I've seeing more & more on non hopper receivers is the Interactive Software trying to load right out of the box (or customers changing to it without knowing what it is), only to have it essentially freeze up the tv. When you try to go to the menu, guide, etc, it just flashes the selection & goes back to Loading.
To get around this, while at the Loading screen:
Unplug Sat feed
Enter menu
Guide
Select ch 101 (any channel works, but all receivers pick up this channel even if disabled)
*should now be looking at Complete Sig Loss again*
Reconnect sat feed
Wait for receiver to sync back up
*Poof! Ch 101!* Also change to 103 now just to clear the Recall to be safe.
Barring this, a new receiver seems to be the only other option I can think of. Also note this works best on existing receivers (already activated & Guide updated). New receivers seem to be a little more quirky about it.
