Hello everyone... Here is a hypothetical situation: If you had an old Dish Network dish with a single LNB what satellite would you point it at if you didn't care about locals or HD and why would you point it there? 61.5?
119 for a MPEG2 receiver
61.5 if you have a MPEG4 receiver
Are you sure you don't mean 72.7 no programming except Spanish on 77.I live at longitude 75.5W. I would definitely choose 77 of the existing satellites. Almost due south azimuth, best elevation, shortest path thru upper layers, etc.
322 can't be used on Eastern Arc so 222 would be most flexible and 72.7 gives the most programming off EA. 119 gives most usage off WA. from SC EA has best view angles. The receiver would be either a Duo 322 or a ViP 222K. Would the LNB have to be a Dish Pro LNB or would one of the older LNBs work?
You mean 72.7 for an MPEG4 receiver. IIRC, nothing but locals are on 61.5 at the moment.
Still, there are about 140 SD channels on 61.5, while there are over 400 on 72.7.wanna bet?

The OP said no HD so 61.5 is where some of the Sd channels are. The issue on EA is they are split. WA SD stations are mainly on 119

Yeah, you're right, I did include the duplicate channel numbers on both lists. So the numbers are 85 for 61.5 and over 300 for 72.7. There were no music channels in my count. Or do you want me to remove all the ALT, PPV and League Pass channels as well? If I do that, 72.7 still has over 200 SD channels.must be using that fuzzy dish math again with the duplicate channel numbers and the 200 audio stations
older LNB will work fine.
