Right, but Scott keeps making it sound like it is an HDMI to HDMI passthrough, in addition to the USB cable that provides the Android streaming integration. Scott has more actual experience with these, so I trust Scott's statements until they can be proven otherwise. Do you have one of these Hopper+'s yet, Bobby? I still want to see Scott's pictures, though.

Any redesigns would have to be submitted to the FCC and would show up on that timeline.
Not sure what the photos do for you but here is my Hopper Plus. As far as accessories the only thing mine came with is a power cord and USB-A to USB-C cable.
I think Scott made those references while describing the wiring involved. There seems to be only one HDMI port and that is an output to a monitir.
Yes, that is what made it so confusing, especially this line:
This makes it seem like there is an HDMI connecting the Hopper 3 to the Hopper+, which does not seem possible based on the available pictures. That is why I was wanting to see Scott's pictures of the wiring, to see how this is hooked up, or what Scott was talking about.
I'm sure after this quoted post, Scott answered, but the HDMI Out on the Hopper is disabled when the Plus is added making the HDMI out on the Plus the lonely one that's usable
Dish isn't allowing Joey 4's or WiFi Joey 4's without the Plus at this time.
Right, but the discussion now is about unplugging the Plus from the electrical outlet (or otherwise shutting off its power). That should automatically re-enable the HDMI Out (no need to specify since there is no HDMI In) on the Hopper, once the Hopper resets, so there is no need to swap out any cables.
One more day to go, maybe?
I wouldn’t hold my breath. When the Joey 3 came out, it was that just automatically added to new installs. You have to remember that when these come out, they are limited in the number that they have available.

Well then, you would think that allowing us to get the Joeys without the Hopper Plus would free up more of those scarce Hopper+'s for other new single-Hopper installs. Everyone wins.
Joeys are in limited supply. As is the Plus. If every time new equipment came out, Dish started just arbitrarily putting it in peoples houses, I would never see a Super Joey or a Joey 2 and I see a Super Joey at least once a week. Joey 2’s get installed every day. Dish doesn’t make money by putting new equipment out in the field. They make money by putting older, refurbish equipment out in the field which is already paid for itself, multiple times in many cases. There is a reason why I routinely install a Hopper 2000. And it’s not just because those are the best choice to give people with bad credit.

I am not saying to just randomly put the new equipment in people's homes, nor to automatically give it to all new customers. I am saying to give it to existing customers who specifically ask for the new equipment. Then, existing customer upgrades can free up more of that older, refurbished equipment for Dish to make money on, by installing it again in new customers' homes. Make the newbies wait their turn.
