How do I transfer existing settings and timers (NOT recordings) from old Hopper 3 to a brand new Hopper 3?

I just purchased a new Hopper 3 for the camper. How do I transfer settings and timers to the one in the camper? It is not power up or activated as yet. Was planning to activate next week while on a camping trip. No power or antenna where it is now.

You would want to do a Backup on your present Hopper remote and then unpair that remote from the present Hopper and pair it with the new Hopper. Then do a Restore on the new Hopper with the old remote in the vicinity of the new Hopper.

one thing that is blowing my mind is that the setting and timers are stored in the remote??

This worked every time I had to change boxes. Every installer would tell me that won't work. They were proven wrong every time.

I have backup the hopper and the remote. Setup at campsite and activated the new hopper. Unpaired the new remote and paired the old one. Went to tools, technician settings and restored recerver and remote. Nothing got transfered.

I am having the same problem. All it does is totally screws up my wireless joey setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my wife have 100 timers saved.

I tried it again as in post #2. I also disconnected all Joeys and the Access Point. Using a 52 remote with all others unpaired it worked. The only thing it did not restore were my guide lists.
Thank You

Maybe my mistake was at home I have a wireless Joey, although it doesn't work most of the time. It was connected.. at the camper there is none.
