Hopper with Sling Software Version S529 Is Here

I seemed to of missed something here. Is the new UI being installed as a nightly update or some trick with the remote buttons ?

Its a remote trick to force it to download. But I have been against the posting of it because for some it causes issues for some of the users. If it worked fine for everyone I would have no problem with people doing it. And the issue is if you download it and it does cause issues with your Hopper or Joeys you are on your own, DISH will not support you.

I am not trying to protect DISH here, I am trying to protect you guys.

Since I am going to turn one HWS in next week, Ill send the one back with the skunk works UI on it ;)

It is my understanding that the other Hopper will notice you got the new UI on the other Hopper and will download it itself to the other one. It would be interesting to see if this happens for you. :)

thamls scott for keepimg us updating on what is going with this new UI i am usually the last ones to get the update.

LOL. This should be interesting. Ill check when I get home today. I like to touch the paint when I see a wet paint sign, so no biggie to me.

Cmon H3!

I don't see how they could not replace defective equipment from this. The customer could just be adamant that he did nothing, and somehow the firmware got on his equipment. Even with the forced download, it still seems to me if the equipment was bricked, Dish would have to replace it, since the customer can continue to deny they know nothing about how the bad firmware got on the equipment. I would think that if Dish refused to replace defective equipment that the consumer would have recourse with their State's AG Consumer Protection office to help resolve.
