Well it's Friday morning, a full week since Scott said that we would all get the update, and still no update.
As you can see, to some, that's clearly not acceptable. He said we would get it !Just like any other release, it problably was delayed.
I wouldn't say a big improvement. There hasbeen a small improvement but over half of the recordings on my EHD is still missing the correct tiles. Other than the new features I don't see where they've fixed much of anything.
Dan.
No, no, no - you need to post here every day, maybe twice a day, that "I still haven't got the update"!I'm just going to enjoy what I got until they are ready to do the update for my receiver.
Same here!!No, no, no - you need to post here every day, maybe twice a day, that "I still haven't got the update"!
Sorry I didn't know that was protocol, in that case I'm still on S506.No, no, no - you need to post here every day, maybe twice a day, that "I still haven't got the update"!
I don't have the Sling version and am still on S440. It's really eerie though.... my receiver still works. I even set a manual timer for an OTA channel yesterday ! Really, freaking weird that it worked too !!Sorry I didn't know that was protocol, in that case I'm still on S506.
Maybe your system is too unstable to take the update.Saturday and still no update. The funniest thing is that my receiver is really acting stranger than usual. Random recordings with split channels showing up in the middle of the show( watching ABC show and it changed channels to some random cable channel and then back, my folders changing in primetime to networks and then all my shows in all my hard drive are divided into networks( Syfy, TNT, ABC, etc all in folders not just primetime). All this and I am doing almost nightly power cord reboots to get it to work to transfer my shows to my I-pad. GOD only knows what the update will bring to it ,since it is acting like it is possessed lately.
Did you try out changing the Early Start/End Late settings for your OTA timer and see if they work?I don't have the Sling version and am still on S440. Not fixed in S446 on my H2K.Did you try out changing the Early Start/End Late settings for your OTA timer and see if they work?
No, I didn't, nor is that that big of a deal. It's just something for someone to point out and complain about. This was with an episode of Leave it to Beaver. I try and get shows like this for our 5-year old to watch and enjoy. She loves I Love Lucy, Mr Bean, and so on.Did you try out changing the Early Start/End Late settings for your OTA timer and see if they work?
Or maybe the Dish folks track comments by users here and hold off updates intentionally !Maybe your system is too unstable to take the update.
It is a big deal for some of us. I encounter the bug in my normal use. Mostly use it for OTA channels that the programing starts early. For the satellite channels I mostly use the End Late settings. No, I didn't, nor is that that big of a deal. It's just something for someone to point out and complain about. If I encounter a "bug" in my normal use, I will post it about. I do not hang out here, look for bugs that others find, and then complain about them when I never knew they existed in the first place until someone told me.
This update has major impact on 2 Hopper household. It finally allows 2 Hopper households to see all tuners available in the household on each Hopper. We have been waiting for this integration for years. To update just one in the household is just poor SW update management. In fact, the SW download should have been sent to 2 Hopper households 1st to assist in testing the SW. However, Dish has chosen to use Receiver # range as their download strategy. This just shows a lack of receiver # control and household equipment control.A couple of possible reasons: The number of 2 Hopper households are minimal, there's no "harm" in them being on different versions.
They could also flag those same accounts to NOT take updates until both are on the list.
I believe very strongly that it says a lot about the number of users with OTA modules and that is, we are a tiny number and an issue like this cannot get high priority from Dish's engineering group. It is a big deal for some of us. I encounter the bug in my normal use.
Yep, I think you are correct.I believe very strongly that it says a lot about the number of users with OTA modules and that is, we are a tiny number and an issue like this cannot get high priority from Dish's engineering group.
