I wouldn't say a big improvement. There hasbeen a small improvement but over half of the recordings on my EHD is still missing the correct tiles. Other than the new features I don't see where they've fixed much of anything.

This morning, looking at the "tuners in use" screen, one of them said "Software update". I had a timer for off and stopped the update. Life goes on....
I reported this as an issue http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/index.php?threads/341452/. I'm on S446 and haven't seen it occur so far.
Ohhh, I've heard of that but paid it no attention. I didn't realize it involved the "software update" message.
I don't use OTA and I doubt most Dish users do. It's good that they fixed it, but pretty low on the list to me.

I use my ota tuner extensively. I receive a 2nd set of locals with it. Their PBS often carries different programing than my local. Also, I do record sub-channels. I did not switch from my 722 to a Hopper until the ota module was released.
He clarified his post quite clearly and in my opinion, quite accurately. My signature, presuming you can see it, is very applicable on this topic.
Why is it so hard for Dish to not tie all Hoppers/HWS on an account together so that they will receive the new software at the same time? I have one with 506 and another with 514. A simple flag placed on both of them so that if one is scheduled to get SW then the other will too. 
A couple of possible reasons: The number of 2 Hopper households are minimal, there's no "harm" in them being on different versions.
They could also flag those same accounts to NOT take updates until both are on the list.

Well it's Friday morning, a full week since Scott said that we would all get the update, and still no update.
