Is it normal for the batteries in the Hopper 3 remote to run down quickly? I have had the hopper since June and have had to change the batteries twice
Twice over seven months is not abnormal. Depends on the amount of usage.Either way not normal, probably just a bad remote.
Yeah, if you use skip forward, or back, a lot you are draining battery with each press of the button. If you are only pressing the on button and changing a channel from time to time, not so much.Twice over seven months is not abnormal. Depends on the amount of usage.
For my main H+, I perform a daily morning remote control roll call in the diagnostics menu looking for low batteries. This Hopper has eight remotes paired to it. Sometimes I use my battery tester to double check a remote batteries that indicate low voltage and they are infact low.Silly question: are your batteries actually dying (it won't register button presses), or are you just getting the popup warning on the screen?
The reason I ask is that I have gotten SW updates that cause the warning to pop up even if my batteries have plenty of life left. Then in a subsequent SW release it goes away. Sometimes it comes back later and the cycle repeats. This happens on both my H3 and my Joey 4's .....
