Homemade OTA antenna

Pluto TV doesn't count because it isn't broadcast OTA. Of course neither is a Wi-fi connection between two highly directional antennas.

Waaaaaay out in the weeds.
Totally. But as for the op being curious.
A highly directional, high gain home made antenna following tried and true designs with a free design tool can work.
I had my doubts from building biquad, setting routers at prime focus of old ku band sat antennas...etc.
When watching the signal strength peak to holeecrap on the client bridge as I zeroed the antenna on a router through a window that many yards away.
Something worked!

You just need a high gain external 2.4 or 5 Ghz directional antennas for long range WiFi bands.

This may not be legal under the FCC, so someone's will have look in part 97 or something that.:)

To see if this is okay.:)

I make my own 8-Bay antennas from galvanized hurricane fence tie wire and 1/2 inch plastic conduit, a couple baluns, and a spliiter to combine the two bays. I have one made for each TV in my house, 5 total. They work about as well as my CM-4228 I bought in 2005ish. I've built multiple units for neighbors and they all are happy...where I am we are 50-70 miles from the transmitters...

My next antenna project will probably be something very similar. The one in my attic is an 8 bay all fastened on a wooden frame I built. The conduit would hold up better outside, and not to mention just look a little nicer.
