Firing Kiffen may have been a step in the right direction. He was in over his head. Firing the rest of the coaching staff will be the next right move. Some great talent there, in need of proper guidance. That puts them at least a step ahead of the Lions, at the least. (We have neither talent or guidance, at any level of the organization.)

for sure the whole coaching staff needs replacing. I don't see the improvement this year by letting go of kiffen. Al needs to hire someone to take care of personal (GM) and Al needs to stay out of it and collect the dough baby ;)

I'm sorry about your lions paul. I miss those days with Sanders:( My favorite RB of all time. I was real happy when they finally fired millen. took long enough

The NFL really needs to help Detroit and Oakland out. Both owners are "without a clue". It's a shame, because Davis used to know what he was doing, but the game has passed him by. As for Ford, well the game passed him by, before he even arrived on the scene.

THE DETROIT LIONS - REBUILDING SINCE 1957!

i agree. it was painful for me to watch AL Davis at that press conference on the firing of Kiffin. To see a man that did so much for the NFL, that was practically a genius at his profession and created a winner there with the raiders for a long time it's really sad to see him just wither away.

again please read carefully. i have no hatred towards the raiders. let it go already please. i don't let my emotions cloud my judgment. I know the few great qb's that at times during their careers didn't have the great wr's to throw to salsa but i have a feeling you'll argue with me on those too and to be honest i don't like arguing over and over no matter if i'm wrong or right.Just look it up if your memory fails you.On what looks like when a person is giving their all and your sarcastic remark on the subject, if you can't tell when someone is putting in the effort that's fine. Coaches and managers do. Owning my own business and managing it I can tell you that i see laziness a mile away and if I can't get your all why would I want you working for me? As for taking a jab at you as you say, I was taking a jab at Russell which by the way is over rated and will be descent at best. Face it and move on :D Maybe if he loses some of that neck fat he might be able to move his head better to see the field. :D If he can see over his fat ass:p

IF you read my post...it has it in parenthesis, "not you personally". But enough of that....I have looked it up, and I cannot find any QBs that that not have atleast ONE good wr. And not being sarcastic, you can find someone that I might have missed.

Since neither YOU nor I have been coaches in the pro football ranks, you do not know what a look of a QB giving his all looks like. ANY QB that not gives his all, forget about being benched, he could be hurt seriously to the point of injured FOR LIFE. Your last line says it all when it comes to JaMarcus....you THINK he is out of shape...you think he is fat....THAT says alot about your like or dislike of a player. It is safe to assume that the Cript Keeper Davis knows his players better than you do right? IF HE thought he was being a "lazy" football player...you don't think he would be starting? I mean he just released a guy he paid a TON of money for only 8 games....

And finally, I meant to say "if you" as in anyone one....when it comes to taking jabs at me. I am sorry if I meant you personally, that was not my intent.

i will give you this, the raiders do have talent to win more games than what they have and don't rip me for this, if Al would have left Kiffin there a bit more they would be doing better right now. I like what i've seen from mcfadden and it's a shame there is no solid direction or correct guidance coming from the coaching staff there. I am glad they let go of Hall as to me he was being over paid and surely not worth the time or money. He has some talent but his attitude isn't the right one. For sure at times you saw the lack of effort from him during games no?
One more thing. I do agree with you on the offensive line issue. No Qb past or present could do a whole lot if not given the time. But like I said before if I'm wrong about russell i'll be the 1st to go to your house and take you out for some beers and tell i was freakin wrong:D we do live close you and I so hold that just in case you're right ;)

OK....They have some talent...but most is on the defensive side. What was done to Carolina was NO FLUKE. The Raiders defense is better than what they show...they are just plain tired. The Raiders are close to LAST in opposing teams time of possession(somewhere around 36 minutes)...THAT will tire a team out and end up giving up big plays late, examples:

51 yard run by LT vs Chargers with 5 minutes left in the 4th for TD.
33 yard run by Lynch vs. Bills with 3 minutes in 4th to set up game winning FG.

Not to mention how many points they have given up in the 4th quarter...NOT BECAUSE they quit...because that defense is huffing and puffing due to being warn out. The Raiders can be 10 deep in very defensive position, but if the offense cannot sustain a drive to at the very least give the defense a rest...then the defense WILL give up big point and big drives.

As far as Hall is concern, his issues had nothing to do with attitude as much he sucked playing man-to-man, which is the traditional defense played by the Raiders. There were NO behavioral issues with him before he was released.

we're cool baby :D. and yes i think he's fat but so am I ;) and yes i read your "not you personally" and i got it. just wanted to have some more fun with you salsita. On the look of a QB, you remember danny right? You remembered when He would get that look in his eyes you knew that the other team was about to pay big time? I really enjoyed that. it was fun to see him get pissed and smoke the opposing team. I miss that :( Of course that's not what i'm referring to when i say the look of a qb giving his best out there every sunday. It could be russell sees his surroundings and says why am i going to bust my ass out there when the rest of the team is in Desirae? Let me give the latest example of a qb giving his best. Shaun Hill of the 49ers yesterday. He played his heart out there salsa. Ben of the steelers gave it his all sunday even though they lost. That's what I'm talking about.Peyton Manning was throwing everything he had at the steelers. You can see the all out effort out of some of these qb's despite of not being 100% healthy. Ben's offensive line isn't that great this year either and he's getting beat up out there every sunday. Another example of heart and effort but no physical talent is Miami QB Chad. High volume of football intelligence but no physical attributes. Give him russell's arm and we would have a hell of a QB here in MIA. If it's true that what i see from russell is due to what he sees from the rest of the team, that would be like what randy moss did while in oakland.Stopped trying because of the circumstances surrounding him. Doesn't matter what's happening with the team and organization, be the one true bright light that stands out. I know it's easier said than done but that's what you're getting paid for to try your best :) I will get that other info for you later and send it to you mild and chunky salsa :D

ok. let me start with john elway.
with elway: superbowl appearances in the 80's 1986,87,89

1983-87 Steve Watson WR (undrafted free agent) 6,112 yds in 9 seasons. Not a great receiver much less a Hall of Famer. He was their best wr until 1987. Two superbowl appearances with him.

1985-95 Vance Johnson WR (2nd round draft pick) 5,695 yds and 37 TD's in 11 years! Descent at best numbers. 3 superbowl appearances with him.

These were their best wr's at the time. not that good.

Finally by 1994 they got receivers like anthony miller, big man shannon sharpe and rod smith to win 2 superbowls at the end of the 90's.

John Elway is one example of making it in the NFL and making 3 superbowl appearances with average receivers early in his career 86,87,89.

I'll give you two more examples later salsa :) take care
