HELP WITH RV SETUP

friend has dish network using a dish 500 with dish pro plus and a vip510 reciever and is having trouble locking even after the check switch, it said after the check switch that one satellite was ok but the other was n/r or something like that.....any suggestions?

Probably an alignment problem. Make sure the mounting pole is plumb to start. Set the elevation and skew on the mount. Then swing dish slowly through the azimuth angle until you get a good signal.

If you're getting only one satellite you might be picking up the wrong satellite on the wrong lnb. This is a common problem and you have to swing the dish a few degrees one way or the other to correct it. You should be able to tell which way you have to swing the dish by using a compass. Sometimes it helps to cover one lnb with aluminum foil and align it with just the one lnb.

if it's a new 510 it usually needs the software download before it recognizes the 110.
