At the house, my current setup has 2 hoppers (with sling) along with 4 Joey units.
I just recently purchased a dish tailgater with a VIP 211k from Amazon to go in our RV.
I'm trying to figure out if the 211k will work in the house in place of one of the Joey units (or elsewhere) while we are not in the RV. The 211k has an EHD attached and I would like it to be able to record programming while at home that we can then take with us in the RV.
I am apprehensive about just plugging the 211k into various connections via trial & error to see what might happen. With the hoppers and power running over coax - I really don't want to screw anything up due to my own ignorance.
At the moment, I have the 211k connected to a single coax running out a backdoor to the tailgater as a temporary solution (without a television attached). It seems rather ridiculous.
More information regarding my setup... I have a dpp44 switch connected to a duo node 185836. I have a dpp44 power inserter inside the house as well.
The hoppers see: 72, 77, 61.5.
The 211k (when connected to the tailgater antenna) sees: 110, 119, 129.
I found some threads via search, but the setups seems too different to mine.
Pictures of dpp44 switch, dpp44 power inserter with empty output and of duo node attached.
So -
1. My power inserter has a "to receiver" output on it. Could this work and send an appropriate signal to the 211k?
2. Can I just plug the 211k into the coax currently feeding a Joey and have it work independent of the hoppers (I'm guessing not)?
3. If all else fails - how would I go about getting my setup to work?
Thanks in advance (from a long time lurker)
