HD signal losing lock in the daytime

Anyone know a current source for 129's transponder maps?

I suspect I'm losing strength due to slight misalignement after a recent storm. Didn't put that one up... its quite an effort to get to it safely.

Symptom is, HD for lowest frequency local channels drop out during the day... they work at night. SD for the same channels work at all times.

This suggests slight realignment is in order. It would be helpful if I knew which transponsders to check... to verify the problem... and monitor when I get the nerve to get up to that antenna.

Thanks.

Similar problem in Georgia

I have a similar problem in Georgia with 129. Sometimes it locks and does fine. Other times it breaks up and starts searching. Also, at times I may have a great picture, but the audio is delayed. The SD is fine.

Just to follow up on this... never did fiind the maps... but the problem went away after a few days. And has not returned. Apparently the problem was on the uplink, or the mix.

Still would be nice to have a source for the maps from channel to transponder so one could check signal strengths.

What maps are you talking about? 129 is conus so mostly everyone can get all transponders.

Here is the map coverage for 129:

BTW, we keep losing signal on 129 because it's a piece of junk.

Randy;

I was losing lock on just a few "local" HD channels on 129. What I was looking for is the transponder to channel mapping. If I knew that, I could check aim using those weakest cases. I assume that makes sense, no?

The assumptions I'm making are:

1. There is a one (channel) to one (transponder) map.
2. It is not "dynamic"... meaning it does not change often.
3. I get lots of transponders on 129 which are not relevent to me, which is why I'd like to adjust to my weakest but relevent transponder.
4. And lastly there is such a list available.

No?

Channels

There are multiple channels on each transponder. Look at Lyngsat.com or the previously posted EKB link for a layout of what is where.

Richard,

Take a look at this link and you'll see that each TP has several channels on it. Except of course for the transponders carrying the HD channels, there are 4 channels per transponder. Some of the TPs on 129 are of no interest to us as they carry locals. Our SF Bay Area HD and SD locals are on 119 and 110.
