HD only a la carte? where is it?

In the past I thought I could do a la carte with Dish and select just HD from them plus locals, etc without having to go through a package? Is that option gone? I can't find it anymore. I'm getting fed up with directtv lack of a la carte and thinking about maybe getting dish again. Maybe just buy the 622 cause I don't want no stinky commitment for 18 months! AllI want is HD without having to pay for channels I NEVER watch.

Where it says "Add $5" --- change that to $6. In other words, HD Package a la carte is $35.95.

Don't count on it being available for much longer - if it still is even now.

Also even if you are able to order the HD Only Pack, you will not get the latest new HD channels namely HG & NFL (know this from personal experience). The HD Stand Alone Pack was SECRETLY frozen in time just before HG,NFL,NGC were added - no more new channels, while the Bronze Pack does get HG, NFL, and the next round of HD channels (as long as the SD channel is paid for).

That is old info. No one can get HD only pack anymore.

Several people have reported that Dish withdrew the HD Standalone Pack in June. Several have tried to get it recently and I haven't heard of anyone being successful.
