If it is, sorry!

When Feb 2009 arrives when channels will be HD only, will I need a HD receiver for each TV to watch my local channels?
I do not have HD receivers currently and I have 2 522 receivers now. When I upgrade I need to know if I need 1 or 2 HD receivers.

Thanks!

They will be digital not all will be in HD

Channels are required to be DIGITAL not HD. For OTA, you will need an ATSC receiver/converter to use with analog tvs. Cable and Satellite customers already have that available to them.

All questions are allowed here on SatGuys. Yours is certainly not dumb. First, the channels are going from analog to digital. Not all channels will be HD. Second, you currently are receiving digital signals through your 522's. If you receive your locals through E*, nothing will be needed. If you receive your locals OTA, a new digital converter box will be needed.

Lease & monthly cost of additional 722?
