HD Channel List: Dish Network vs DirectTV

Look at all of those reds for Direct. The only reds in the non sports section for Dish are the 101 and Smithsonian. The only area where red really stands out for Dish is in the sports and RSNs

I know how to click a link, but I would guess the yellow ones should be blue.
But it is nice to see National HD 81 to 68 and D* needs to do a lot of catching up.:D:p
It also stands out if you only compare the basic channel (the ones most subs have).

Dish: 59
Direct: 53

Non-premium, non RSNs, non Sports package, non PPV, Dish now leads by 6

I'll get um this afternoon when I get up if someone doesn't before hand... ;)

Hi,
while you're updating it, the formula's and counts on the "Regular channels" are wrong.
The formulas in cells B51,C51, F45 and G45 contain the wrong cell range and therefore the wrong counts are listed... When the Formulas are updated to ranges of B5:b50 and C5:C50 the correct Dish vs. DirecTV counts are:
Regular Channels: 44 vs 36
National HD : 84 vs. 70.

I've attached a version containing these formula corrections.

Luck D* still has sports cause they don't have anything else.:p:D
Anything else??? OK. Tell that to the 18 million subs.

Look each provider offers something the other doesn't and that suits the different needs for the different types of subs.

For me personally, Direct is the best deal in both price and channels. For the comparable package and setup with Dish I would be paying $10 more per month. Also, Direct offers more of my locals in HD (8 HD locals and 2 FULL time local HD RSNs with Direct. 6 HD locals and 2 part time HD RSNs with Dish) and more of the channel I watch in HD.

Dish has 11 national basic HD channels not found on Direct and there are only two that I want, WGN and Travel. The others, even if they were on Direct, I would never turn to them and would not have them saved in the guide:

BET
BET Jazz
FTV
Hallmark Movies
Lifetime
Lifetime Movies
Logo
MavTV
Travel*
WGN*

WFN

Direct has 4 national basic HD channels not found on Dish:

101*
Smithosian*

Fuel
MLB*

*The only ones I am interested in and the only ones I have saved in the guide in SD and/or HD (for me personally, it is a 3 to 2 favor with Direct in basic national HD that one has that the other doesn't)

I think your post should be deleted for being a duplicate post, other then that be careful coming down from your soapbox.
