I would hope that's not "by design", unless I'm misunderstanding part of it. If I get the update, I'll try it out.i responded that it is probably by design.

There are some minor changes. Nothing earth shattering. Most noticable changes are additional EPG buttons related to DishOnline.
Have not received update yet, but am hoping that they will allow BLOCKING of ONLINE via guide. Sorry, DN, you are not NETFLIX or any other on-demand service - their product is far superior in quality and we don't even subscribe to them.
We block all pay-per-view. Pet sitters already load up DVR with programs we must delete when we return from trips. Found 722 in living room maxed out after most recent trip and just highlighted all non-protected and deleted - then deleted all the new timers.
No reason whatsoever to allow them to run up bills in the thousands of dollars because they get bored with a show 10 minutes into it when all they are supposed to do is come in, feed the cats, and leave.
Would really be nice if we could block all new timers - and require password to create one, as well.
i wonder if the ones who got the Updates where handpicked by Dish to be there "Beta" testers for it to fully roll out on all receivers. i got a 625, so my menu is still the same.
Interesting, you don't have the update but you already know how bad it is.... I really don't suspect that Dish is targeting Netflix (yet).Have not received update yet... Sounds like your issue is that people you hire as sitters, not Dish's equipment. As for requiring a password to set a timer, you really want to have to enter one each time ? Granted, most people likely don't create a new timer every day...Pet sitters already load up DVR with programs...

I am still on L662. I wonder if they redid the VOD section this release also.
Yes.
