The range depends more on the terrain between you and the transmitter than the antenna gain.

Me five! I love my 4228. It has been the only antenna that receives the weak Denver OTA HD locals. I'm about 15 miles away and blocked by a hill from our locals which are using temporary 5000 watt or so sticks until their super tower is finished later this Spring.
