Google Scores NFL Sunday Ticket Package

Everyone Except Cable Operators, or Sat Operators or Fiber operators ....
So, Ya, available to Everyone .... except it’s not.
If you get cable broadband, it is available to you, just not thru your cable company.
Also, being available to and being affordable is not the same.
How much was it in 2021, then 2022, what was the rate of increase.
When I have to pay over $500 to watch 12 games a year, thats ridiculous.
Why would you have to pay $500, it is more then $150 less right now for the first option, unless you want to give Google a tip?

  • $349 per season if you purchase by June 6
  • $389 per season if you bundle with RedZone and purchase by June 6
The option with Redzone is$10 less then DirecTV last year.
They are typically on Network probably 4 times a year, somewhere.
Lions were only on 3 times last season here, including Thanksgiving.

I keep reading these posts, all this anger over ST leaving DirecTV, but the fact remains, DirecTV did not want it anymore, no bid at all, they did not even want the contract for businesses and they have a near monopoly for Casinos, Bars and Restaurants.

That should show you they are in make as money as possible mode right now without spending anything to make the service better, either in equipment or content, before a sale, merger or the end.

Not really..broadband is AVAILABLE in 90% of the country..directv was AVAILABLE in 100% of the country
no it isn't. Most apartment complexes you can't get Directv satellite yet you can get broadband. If you have line of site issues you can't get it (there are folks who have LOS issues to Directv but could get Dish). So to say "100% of the country" is a lie.

Found this-According to the market & consumer database Statista, nearly 44 millionhousing units were rented, comprising 34% of the total U.S. households. Per U.S. Census data, the average household size is 2.6 people. Thus, the number of renters was 114.4 million, or 35% of the U.S. population in 2021.

So, roughy, a tad more then 60% of Households in the United States has access to DirecTV, while 90% has access to Broadband.

Which is better Juan?

The WSJ, in an excellent article explained the math. It was titled "Sunday Ticket is moving to the internet, expect to pay more". For non-partisans, that pretty much is the correct answer. Any other answer is just spin and voodoo math.

Fact is it is going to cost more and YouTube is going to lose a massive amount of money on the project. That is what it is.

Broadband can be DSL...they also have a streaming version of directv.
So you may want to rethink this comment

no sh*t. I have Directv stream here when the Telco stopped offering cable and have posted about the service many times.
However last year Directv stream DID NOT carry NFL ST (and unlike you I will post a link)

However, the TV services have some differences in the channels they carry and that includes the NFL Sunday Ticket. The package of out-of-market Sunday afternoon games remains a DIRECTV satellite exclusive.

So you may want to rethink this comment
My comment still stands. Last year when Directv had NFL ST "directv was AVAILABLE in 100% of the country" (your comment) is still wrong.
You might want to rethink your comment (oh wait you'll move the goal posts like you always do)

Why would you think a company that doesn't want the hassle of Residential ST would bid on it ?

They didn't want it and did the right thing, got out.

Now the Commercial side, I'm not so sure D* didn't want that side of it.

The NFL decided where THEY wanted to go .....

As for the Lions being on only 3 times, ok, thats 2 more than a lot of years.
My team is on Network maybe 4-5 times a year, usually when they play the Pats (when they play, or a Top team, KC Buffalo).

Everytime they are on Network, de-values the ST for me.

Hmmm ...
I do believe that D* had a deal with Apts as well as Students that you Could get it somehow in apts, don't believe a Sat was required.

For every prospective customer with maybe the lone exception being DirecTV subs who were getting it at a discount or a special program, this is massively cheaper. Easily thousands per year cheaper vs having to have Directv to get it, for me.

Ask your self .... if it cost you a $1000 + well say $350 for ST, you would NOT BUY IT ... no one would.

The google version is crippled
How is YT crippled ?
They have a good choice of channels, they have ST Now, they will continue to raise thier prices, ST as well.

They will reach a point that people will quit paying thier prices, they have the ST for X amount of years ...
How long till people say they want ST to move elsewhere, like they did with D*.

Like I said earlier, YT is no different than D* was, its 1 company that everyone has to get thier NFL fix from ... it was D* now YT ... in however many years it will be someone else.

The NFL thinks they can do No Wrong, thats what is so irritating about Goodell.

Sorry, I merged this thought together with a few others ...

I have to keep going back and fix my typing, it gets hard when 1 arm can't reach the keyboard like normal.

Sorry about any screw ups.

You only get 2 streams..redzone channel counts as a stream...the sunday ticket redzone was different than the non sunday ticket version..it wasn't delayed and had a different host

I am writing about this anger DirecTV subscribers seem to have about Google having it now.

Every negative thing is being brought up, yet all can be easily disputed.

The most strangest things I keep reading is people are peeved it is a exclusive with YTTV to get the less expensive price, or with You Tube itself, yet they were ok when it was a exclusive with DirecTV.

DirecTV did not want it, end of story, time to move on.

You only get 2 streams.
First-
to use more with DirecTV adds to the price with box fees, I have read about a very few people pissed about the 2 Streams, saying they need about 8.

Well they adds $56 a month, $672 a year, you can’t just pause the box fee if you own the boxes like you can with Dish.

Second-
While true you only get two streams, you also get the games on CBS and Fox, via your TV provider or even OTA.

So that is 4 games, also there is no reason what you cannot switch to a different game, 2 streams at once, has nothing to do with changing channels.

Third-
There is multi view, get to pick 4 games, counts as one stream.

So with another game, plus the two on the networks, you should be covered.

redzone channel counts as a stream...
Not if you get it via sports pack via YTTV or get it on another TV Provider.
the sunday ticket redzone was different than the non sunday ticket version..it wasn't delayed and had a different host
That Redzone was exclusive to DirecTV, so of course it no longer exists.
