No 5.1 surround on NFL game on Paramount+

wondering about y'all that slap VPN clients on your streamers

My ISP shows my location all over the country. If I want to see local content, I have to use the VPN. With Roku I just put up with the inconvenience. With this Fire Stick I can "move" to wherever I want.

Outperform I believe is a quick statement. My personal connection with anything. Technology included. It's Apple who spawned i-everything. Propritary and very protective of intellectual property. I saw that years ago. Mind you. I do have an Apple TV 3 sitting in a drawer. Rushed out and got it after learning about Kodi and jailbreaking. Then got sent out of the city for an extended period well past the return period. The got home and found out the 3 was a no-go. Used it a bit. Screen mirroring. Stuff. iTunes this and that. Forgot my Apple ID and the whole de register thing.
PITA. Lent it and the Pendant to a few interested in trying out streamers before buying. Explaining that they were a few years old. Fire won it. Roku a close second. Period.
None are "wholesome". Apple started the disease of proprietary componnents. Air this. i-that.
Cook an Nvidia GPU on a Saturday evening and head out to Comp USA, Best Buy, the local habib computer store for a new video card. Good luck with that. Genius bar? "The dot is red, water damage, tough luck, the brand new eye-72 is out now for only $1795 with a 3 year contract".
Hey! Louis Rossman, Hugh Jeffries, Jessa Jones. Can ya' hook a brotha' up?
A few days later. A phone call, email. It's done. Fixed. $195.00.
So. Enough of that. Unless you wish to get into dinner, looking at your plate of food that was planted and harvested with John Deere farm implementation that Apple infected with the great idea of taking the ability of a farmer to repair his own stuff. Rushing to plant and harvest when the tractor breaks down in the middle of a field right before a gulley-washer and the JD "tech" is half a state and 3 days out. Apple infects the masses. So, under water she sinks in a pool of mud.

Nothing wrong with a router behind a router. Especially one you can install Wireguard on. OpenVPN is okay. Wireguard? Nice. Only was questioning if there was a noticable resource drain with an app and VPN running on a streamer. That's all.
I like my Fire TV Cube. And now I know. I see Jellyfin can stack on top of Kodi. Like Plex.
adios. Kirk out.
