I would like to add more local channels, especially from Augusta GA, Charleston SC, Columbia SC, Greenville SC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Spartanburg SC, Asheville NC, but haven't been able to figure out the links so far...
After some more use of this box, I completely agree with you. The IPTV generally has a better image quality than Roku, etc. The IPTV isn't instant here, but far quicker than backing up and choosing another channel with Roku! I also have AppleTV. I may be in the dark, but I don't know how to view 3abn, etc. with AppleTV except through Youtube. I can airPlay all these channels from Mac to AppleTV very well. It is still more complex than the 3500's IPTV!
Our dish outside hasn't been touched in years. I have connected 6 or more receivers to it. This unit looks VERY GOOD!
Going forward from here, I want to learn to manage my IPTV list. Then I want to learn how to record. Favorites in the dish tuner is still on my mind.
I had a functional issue tonight. The network kept going on and off. The ethernet switch on which this box is connected was working fine for the Roku, etc. After browsing the satellite programming on the 3500 for a while, I went back to IPTV and it was working fine.

I have recorded some instructional videos that I will post in the next day or two. They will give you slightly better feel on how to manage this box. The best for now if you have a computer on the same subnet (network) with windows. Because putting the local IPTV channel list on the internal drive and creating a short cut to it is the best. You would have instant access to the IPTV channel list from the computer and you would be able to test the channel with VLC and instantly copy and paste into GEOSATpro HDVR3500 drive and have it instantly available.
Our goal is to make it as simple as any of user can do it
Once we approve channel manager, then these functions would become even easier.

What if we don't use Windoze, but a Mac user? I switched to a Mac because I wanted something better for photo, video, & audio editing, and so far very pleased. I have VirtualBox installed with Windows XP (have old files I needed to convert), so I'm wondering if I can get it to connect to the receiver. Will have to give it a try, and post my results...
The IPTV is not yet recordable, we are working on that feature, but I do not promise it will be available, but in testing we have achieved the recording, so there is hope.
The Favorites lists are set up by clicking OK, then blue button, then you can manage favorites. I will post video tomorrow.

CIFS is an older version. We will most likely be able to use AFP. I will update you on the findings.
EUREKA! I got it working in VirtualBox on Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11! Here's how I did it: Machine > Settings > Network > changed the Attached to: settings to Bridged Adapter.
Started up Windows, entered the IP address of the receiver in Explorer, and it worked, I can see everything on the drive!
