General Dynamics and M&C Systems???

I have heard that General Dynamics has recently become a major share holder of a company called M&C Systems. I have seen there stuff at DirecTV when doing an installation and it looked pretty cool. Doesn’t General Dynamics have there own monitor and control software and why be a share holder in another company if they do have there own software.
