Frustrated by numerous program guide issues

On continuing series like "The Last Ship", episode numbers continue numerically from season to season in the program guide (e.g. episode 68, 69 ...) but restart by season when using Dish Anywhere (e.g. season 5 episode 1,2,3 ..... Descriptions of the episodes are different as well which can make it difficult to find the one you want

Also, the timer for HBO's Camping that worked last week isn't firing for this week or next week. I created another one leaving the original in case they fix the original.

I think that may be more of a ViP thing. Receivers with the Hopper interface usually display the season and episode number within the season, just like Dish Anywhere. (Whether the episode number is correct can be a different matter entirely. ;) )

Jeopardy All Star Games - the Friday episode is incorrect. Has same description as the Saturday rerun. Just trying to record the tournament and noticed the issue.

Same old issues still occurring with a new twist here and there. A few new issues now and then, but nothing really worth rehashing the same old complaints. Most issues I've seen are on local channels, religious networks and business channels.

Wish we could have thread where we could list errors in the program guide so they could be corrected.

J . . . Wish we could have thread where we could list errors in the program guide so they could be corrected.

It would be the biggest thread in the forum!!!

Welcome to DISHs' Guide Feature. It has been a disaster for as long as they have had guides. What I am seeing now is in a group of programs that record daily, for a while they listed the Group as the Title of the program with the Episode Number for each of the programs. That was genius!! Then that was an on again, off again thing. AND then there would a an episode of two that were tossed in every so often, not labeled with the #, but the name of the program. Monstrously inconsistent!!

BUT there are times that it's perfect and beautiful. So we know they can do it. Just not all the time . . .

P.S.
Other than PQ fluctuation, this has been my biggest gripe for decades.

No issues lately except a few recordings have been interrupted midway then resumed. Happens to Superstore every week.

For me that's been the Nightly Reboot firing off whenever it wishes, even during recordings 12 hours after it's set to fire. But there have been other reasons.

Here's one. Just yesterday I finally got around to watching an old recording from last summer from my local PBS affiliate, which was simply labeled "Fleetwood Mac: Rumours" and the tile was the cover art for that album. There was no other description, other than repeating the title. When I watched it, it turned out to be a tribute band called "Rumours of Fleetwood Mac," not the actual band. It was still okay, but it was not exactly what I was expecting.

Here is another weird guide issue that I have mentioned before, but it is worth mentioning again. In the Cleveland, Ohio market, Fox 8 News at Noon consistently shows the episode name as "The Big Fish" with the description "Advice on angling in southern Louisiana." This is an odd description for a newscast in northeast Ohio. Other newscasts on this station do not have this problem with the guide description, this only happens on the Noon guide listings.

Probably another show with same title

Sent from my SM-G950U using the SatelliteGuys app!

Portland Oregon PBS station in the guide is more wrong information than correct. Have to download guide from the PBS station and read through it to determine what episode is playing and get a decent description.

Had an issue that On Demand was not working. Tried resetting the network info seemingly to no avail. Started working recently, this should be a good thing (it is) but now to add to my frustrations. The program guide, On Demand info, and Dish Anywhere information are all different.

They got me. DVR recorded the first episodes of new season of Survivor and Master Chef then kaputz. It hadn't happened in awhile and I didn't catch it until now.

I'm really noticing a severe lack of attention and consistency in the listings as in the labeling icons. Most start out being labeled with the dates that they aired which was brilliant or the name of the episode with S0, E0. Then every so often one, two, there episodes are labeled the name of the program series and not as before which threw everything off and those episodes either don't get recorded or they lacked even more information so it is virtually impossible to tell what it was and where or if it belonged in the series.

This is something that has been a problem for years . . .

Same here in New Orleans on our Fox 8 at noon. Our station probably was the one at one time to have The Big Fish, but not now.

Sorry to post so late, been busy.

Much (not all) of the problems for the last week or so due to the Daylight Savings change which coincided with a number of new programs. Particularly affected programs recorded on a weekly schedule where time change was not adjusted. Some of mine showed as duplicates, had to delete and re-enter.

Noticed a lot of sloppy work in program descriptions. Had one case where one week a program was entered using caps "With" and the next no caps "with" causing problems. Found a high number of programs with incorrect entries. A couple of my recordings were the wrong program.
