New to Flex Pack, or new to Dish?Don't know for certain but am guessing the $5 autopay discount will be for new customers only.

New to Flex Pack, or new to Dish?
Hmm...I guess I will have to close my account, then return to Dish.New to dish or a qualified returning customer.

Right now, I have two Dish accounts, one Directv account, and a Hulu account, so I think I could manage. If you can live without it for 60 days I think, you'd be considered new again.

Dish's reps can "elaborate" all that is needed regarding this. It's a non-issue though since if you don't have the current card, Dish will send one and then you can switch packages. If you live in Canada or have moved in order to get different locals, well, that's the risk you took doing that....
I like to get different local channels. I have one Dish account at my actual address, one Dish account with "moved" locals, and Directv to get the west coast network affiliates from Los Angeles. I was thinking about switching one of my Dish accounts to Flex Pack without locals, since my local Fox affiliate was dropped anyway, due to the Tribune dispute.Dare I ask why have 3 pay tv accounts?

There are really no "conditions" involved. Well, one condition is that you have to have a "base" package to start from. That package can be Flex, the various AT packages, and so on. You can't have just the "Locals" pack or just the "News" pack. The prices are as is.Maybe it is $39.99 without any add-ons, and $34.99 if you add something to it. Has anyone tried getting just the Flex Pack without any add-ons?
Can someone elaborate on the Smart Card requirement? I have a 211k purchased in summer of 2010.
Will I require a new Smart card to get Flex pack? What do I need to look for on the Smart Card to ensure I have what I need to switch? Thanks
So far, no one with Flex + Locals pack has volunteered (myself included) to remove the Locals package and see what happens. My suspicion is that the guide data will be lost.
You have proof? The guide data will be lost. It would say digital service for all programming
It's not listed in any of the packages. Isn't that confirmation enough ?Can someone please confirm that it's not possible to get NBC Sports with Flex Pack? If that's the case, I'll delay converting till after the Olympics.
You need a red & white smart card with G4 printed on the front, G3 smart card is purple & black, wonder if this is the early stage of a next card swap? Can someone elaborate on the Smart Card requirement? I have a 211k purchased in summer of 2010.

The only reason to think it belonged was the original thread that mistakenly included it in the list because it was in Free Preview. There is absolutely no indication that the base pack will have any sports. And currently, there is no indication the add-ons will include NBCSN. Personally, I went down to Welcome and added the SlingTV pack with NBCSN. I'm hoping having NBC via Welcome will allow me to stream via NBC's website to make up for the lack of DVR on SlingTV.It's not listed in any of the packages. Isn't that confirmation enough ?
That is one of the reasons I don't have Directv anymore. That's Dish though, Directv and Cable isn't as giving.
