FCC Filings Reveal Dish's Satellite Shuffle Plans (source)
Dish has recently filed a couple of applications with the FCC that reveals their plans for shuffling satellites specifically at the 110 W location. First, Dish has applied to initiate the move of the E-10 satellite from 138.5 W to 110 W starting around March 21. This application only deals with the telemetry associated with the move as well as telemetry testing at 110 W. Second the E-6 satellite will be moved slightly at 110 W to make room for E-10 and then be kept there as an in-orbit spare. This seems like a waste to me but perhaps Dish has future plans for E-6 that they don't want to reveal at this time. Below are links to the FCC website for the Dish applications:

By the way, there is nothing new to report on the E-10 Interference battle with DirecTV, at least based on FCC filings. In other related satellite news, it appears that SES Global, the parent company of SES Americom will be involved in the satellite procurement process for both the new 129 W and 77 W DBS satellites and these procurements should be finalized by April 1. It appears that Dish will be a major leasee on both of these satellites implying that the 77 W slot will be a significant part of Dish's future plans.

FCC Approves E-10 Move to 110.2 W

The FCC has approved the move of the E-10 satellite to 110.2 W from 138.5 W starting about March 21. This approval does not allow Dish to start operating E-10 at 110.2 W. Here is the FCC website link:

Bottom of page 3 note 6 says:

EchoStar has reached an accommodation with DIRECTV with respect to a single
overlapping telemetry frequency.

Sound like they reached an agreement with D*

This is only an agreement for telemetry frequency to control the E-10 satellite. This is not an agreement with DirecTV which would clear the way for the FCC to grant approval for Dish to downlink video (programming) from E-10.
