External Hard Drive Support Coming for 612

Dish Network has posted the following to their retailer website.

External Hard Drive Feature Available for ViP612

Effective Wednesday, April 16, 2008, the external hard drive feature will be available with the ViP612 receiver. There is a one-time activation fee of $39.99 applied to the account, which will allow customers to use any eligible receiver, including the ViP612, ViP622 DVR or ViP722 DVR.

Wonder what the fee is gonna be for the 211 receivers. What if you've already paid the $39.99 EHD fee? Would you be able to use the feature on a 211 receiver?

When first announced the fee would cover the account. So as many DVR's that supported the EHD would be allowed to have EHD's.

If you already paid, when the 211 supports it you should be good to go.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but does anyone know if the three time switching drives still apply? I have a 622 that has already been activated and it sure would be nice if I could switch between the 622 and 612 with no limits.

It's Called

They already have it is the VIP-222, only issue is it does not support EHD yet. If you are talking about Dual Tuner and both having Mpeg-4 output it will be a long while.
