External hard drive question: About how much more time do you get per....

Say 500 extra gigs.

I'm trying to decide if a 722 is worth it over a 622. What if I just went out and bought a 500gig-1tb drive.

What kind of total HD recording time are you getting with your drives?

I'm not interested is SD.

I have 1 hour HD shows on my external HDD ranging from 2.5GB to 5.7GB so it depends a lot on what it actually is you're recording. My guess, too, is that it would be different if it were MPEG2 (some of the "older" HD channels) vs. MPEG4. Star Wars Ep. III is 10GB (recorded off of HBO-HD).
