Export a DVR'd program ?

Is there anyway to export a program or movie that you have recorded?

I have a HR-24 and thought it would be nice to copy a program that my friend doesn't get, so we could watch it at his house. Or is it encoded or something?

I was thinking a thumb drive or something?

I'm sure it's encrypted just like the E* receivers. DVD recorder? I can play recorded shows in my computer but I haven't tried capturing or recording the video.

You can record it to dvd, but it must be done in real time.
