According to the Deadline article, no to both. That lead to the question, do EPIX and Starz become sister networks, or does Lionsgate pull out of EPIX?

I would prefer it not happen, but it sounds like a done deal (mostly)...
If Lionsgate "exits" I don't see Epix hanging around much longer. I have read rumors (only rumors and talk) that Viacom (Paramount's parent) might be trying to "re-merge" with CBS, which would bring Showtime back into the Viacom fold, and thus an outlet for Paramount films, this would leave MGM as the last man standing with Epix. Perhaps if that comes to fruition, Epix and Showtime might merge together. In the wake of its $4.4 billion agreement to purchase Starz, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said the studio is looking forward to “conversations” with its partners in Epix, hinting that those talks could include a possible exit from the fledgling premium channel.

Showtime is dying as a pay-TV service..epic model works better
Look at subscriber numbers, Epix has approximately 10,000,000 while Showtime has about 22,800,000 as of December. Please explain how a service with over twice as many subscribers which also grew last year, from what I read as, "dying."
Distribution..22mil out of 80 million..vs epics customers are part of a package..so a merged operation could potentially reach far higher numbers..selling it like yes network..that's why sports switched from pay tv model to traditional cable model
So what will that do for us DISH customers?
Nothing much. I don't particularly like Starz , Encore, or Epix. Do you?

Showtime has orginials, EPIX doesn't. Showtime will stay around if those two merge.

Yet, the wheels keep on turning.Epics has concerts and occasional sports..cable in general is dying
Starz original slate is much better than HBO's by far overall. GOT/SV/VEEP is still the best though

As an opinion some would say that, for others and as numbers who watch and awards it's HBO original programming.
