EHD to Hopper

I have a EHD that has a number of items on it and was wonderingwhen I go to plug it into my new Hopper will I have to format it again thus losing all my recorded programs? Thanks

Not clear on what you have on the EHD or where it came from, but if it was formated on the same account and was a Hopper or a Vip dvr receiver (ie: 722, 622, 612, 922, ect.) it would be fine. If it was formated to a 211 or for some other use other than Dish, it would be reformed.

Then it won't format when you connect it to the Hopper.

Lucky means it won't require a re-format. It is already formatted correctly.

I just upgraded today from a 922 to a hopper. I had an EHD which I hadn't used for a while (maybe since I had a 622) and when plugged into the 922 to copy my recordings, it said it was formatted to a different account and asked to format, and I let it. Then I copied a half disk full of shows from the 922 to the HD and it seemed to go fine. Now when I connect it to the Hopper - it gets the same error - wrong account. What's up? I did pay the one time EHD fee several years ago.

PM one of the DIRT members here on this website and they will send a hit to your Hopper to fix that...
