Just received my Hopper 3 and only recorded a few shows to learn the 100+ things you can do with the Hopper. I also have the Dish Anywhere on my Android phone. I went to the phone and the DVR screen. What a shock to find several recordings that I never recorded. Some were from many months ago. The box it was in had the "REMAN" label on it, so some one else must of had this unit at one time. Maybe it was their recordings. But, the odd thing is when at home on the main TV, the DVR only shows the few recordings I made. What the heck is going on with this very interesting unit?

There was a problem a couple of months ago, where Dish Anywhere was showing recordings and TV stations from other people's accounts. That problem has been fixed, but maybe, because your box was owned by someone else, you are seeing their old recordings?

I have been a Dish customer for a long time, and I have found that Dish Anywhere problems like you are describing have a tendency to disappear on their own. I suspect that if you wait a few days, the problem will magically disappear.,

There have (in the past) been reports on people logging into Dish Anywhere and getting someone else's DVR instead of their own. Could this have happened here? Were the few shows that you did record present on the DVR in Dish Anywhere, in addition to the ones that you did not record?

I was not sure so I just checked. My recording were there along with 8 other folders with many recording in each folder. Now last night when I checked, only mine were there.
I guess I will wait and see just what happens.
Thanks for the info.

Welcome to the I hate the DishAnywhere club.:welcome
I may start to agree with you. When 12 feet from my router I attempt playback of a recorded program and spend more time watching it buffer the show than watch the show. It does appear to work if you go to the guide to set a recording. That will be useful whenever I don't get home in time for something I really want to see.

The latest problem with Dish anywhere came up and I followed what it stated on my phone screen when I attempted to watch a recording. The message stated my firmware was out of date, call dish. So I did and they looked everything over and said the firmware needed updating. Three days old and needs updating. So, after a half hour with the download and restart, I went back to the app to see a recording. Same dam message. So I guess it is just one more thing Dish can not fix and I will use the app for setting recordings when away from the house and cannot get home in time to watch. So I guess I have joined the I hate Dishanywhere club.
