According to an interview with one of the show creators, the film was supposed to be made during the writers strike, but never happened, so the plans are now to shoot it after Season 8, and he indicated that the film would be the final Jack Bauer story.

Further details on Season 8 premiere:

Sunday January 17 - 9pm ET - 2 hours (special extended Sunday Prime Time, which is no doubt dependent on local affiliates agreement, as many have popular Ten O'Clock News programs that air daily)

Monday, January 18 - 8pm ET - 2 hours (pre-empts House)

Monday, January 25 - 9pm ET - returns to normal slot after House (although schedules for this date have not yet been released, note that this follows the exact patten of Season 7's first five hours)

Yup that was the intention, but I haven't see anything official from Fox, Imagine or Real Time about Season 8 being the last season, or there being any green light given for a feature film. Both would, in their own way, be very good. I like planned-in-advance endings.

I edited the "Early Warning" post to add one forgotten item (and to add specifics like times and channels):

Friday, September 25 - 9pm ET Dollhouse Season Two Premiere on Fox-HD (written by Joss Whedon)

by the way, everyone agrees that the best episode of Dollhouse is the DVD-only episode (also on Blu-Ray set) Epitaph One written by Joss Whedon and set 10 years in the future, showing the results on the world of the Dollhouse technology.

What's with all of the network talk? There's a network DVR thread, Chuck thread and forum, 24 thread and forum, dollhouse, thread..... thought I was in the wrong place.

First off, those are mainly for discussion of details about the programs. This thread is for alerting people to the dates/times of upcoming TV. There are many shows that I love to watch, but have no interest in discussing.

Second, the organization of Programming Forums on SatelliteGuys has always been illogical, even after the change, which occurred long after this thread started.

Sorry.. there is a DVR alert thread in the Network forum started 6/08 well before the networks threads were separated or the fan forums were started. This thread is "cable and satellite networks". We have never discussed network programming in this thread.

Network DVR thread:

There is also a 2009 Network Schedules thread:

Well that division doesn't make sense. Satellite Guys has always been expert at creating many duplicate Forums that have the same discussions.

If Titanic is on USA network, then you have to alert in one forum, and discuss it in a second forum, and if it is on NBC network, then you have to alert in a third forum, and discuss it in a fourth forum ?

If NFL Football is on ABC network, then you have to alert in one forum, and discuss it in a second forum, and if it is on ESPN, then you have to alert in a third forum, and discuss it in a fourth forum ?

So, what happened with the Olympics, which were on broadcast networks and on cable channels and is "sports programming" ?

A division between cable channels and broadcast channels only makes sense when discussing the channels, e.g. "When is Dish going to get my Deadwood, South Dakota ABC channel in HD ?" It makes no sense to separate programming forums by channels...

The forums in this section are divided up by network category (heirarchy). So looking from the top-down, it would make sense to keep the posts within the proper division.

General, Network, Other, Cable & Satellite.

That's how it is.

True, the forum structure is somewhat confusing. But let's not make it even more confusing than it already is. This forum has a very well defined purpose and this thread has a 1000+ post tradition. Let's not change it over sudden.

Posts moved.

Shouldn't that comment be in a Blu-Ray Forum ? :D ;)

Oh, and Gladiator and Braveheart are both coming out on Blu-Ray any day now, by the way.

Well aware... however, they have actually been in HD on TNT, HBO, etc. Postman is either 4:3 or stretched every time it comes up. I know Don likes this movie, so I give him a hard time about it.

1 - You could have left that decision for dfergie since it is his thread.

2 - Wherever you moved them to, I will not see any replies, since this is the only Programming Forum I read.

3 - Most of the reason for posting things in this thread that may stray from the main purpose, is to alert readers of this thread to that information. The broadcast network information was certainly going to be found in the broadcast network schedule threads in the broadcast network Forums. Note that people do not post lists of every movie showing on a cable channel in this thread, they just post ones that they think other readers will find interesting. That was the point of my post, clearly a one time "alert".

4 - You also removed posts and information that were entirely relevant to Cable and Satellite Channels. If you moved them to the Broadcast Network area, then they are now off-topic there. ;)

I didn't have to. It was an abvious move. But of course it's up to him to move it back if he wants :)

2 - Wherever you moved them to
Moved to the Network DVR Alert thread.

Too bad. Sorry to hear that...

Are you talking about the lines about Sons of Anarchy, True Blood and the Nimiq 5 Launch? I didn't want to edit your post. Would you like me to? ;)

If you want to discuss this further please send me a PM.

Since many of us read threads from our subscriptions list (which do not clearly highlight which forum you're in), could you please rename this thread "Cable and Satellite DVR Alert" to parallel "Network DVR Alert" (to help us avoid posting the wrong info in the wrong thread)?
