DVR 625 swap tv1 to tv2

I have a friend with a Dishnetwork DVR model 625. TV1 is in living room, TV2 is in bedroom. Is there a way to swap them so you can watch TV1 programming on bedroom tv, and then go back? I have bneen unable to find anything by searching the forums...

Not sure if I understand your question properly but you can take an RF feed on channel 3 or channel 4 output from the back of TV1 television in the living room and send it to the bedroom TV and put it into an unused RF input for ch.3 or ch.4.

The feed from the satellite receiver is also there on perhaps channel 60 or some other UHF channel.

You switch with the bedroom TV remote from ch.3 (living room feed) to channel 60 (or whatever) for satellite TV2.

Pepper's sounds about right. Sorry Clancy, should have left more details. Don't want to run extra cable, and tv has only one input (75 ohm RF) anyway. With one two-tuner receiver, with TV1 output going to living room with one cable from box to tv, and TV2 output going to bedroom with one cable from box to tv. Want to send TV2 output to Living room TV temporarily, or send TV1 output to bedroom, and swap back and forth by remote.

Combine the rf outputs of tv1 and tv2 with a combiner or backwards splitter at the back of the receiver and then connect the output to the cable going to tv2. You can then watch tuner 2 on whatever channel that is set up for and watch tuner 1 on channel 3 or 4. If your living room tv has multiple av inputs then run a spare set of av cables from the tuner 2 outputs into the living room tv and they would just have to change the video input on their tv to switch between tuner1 and tuner2 in the living room.

Could I just use two splitter/combiners, join TV1 and TV2 with one, then split that to the two tv's, getting TV1 output on, say, channel 4 at either TV, and TV2 output on, say channel 30, so that switching back and forth from TV1 to TV2 signal would be just changing from channel 4 to channel 30 and back, on either TV?

Yes, but depending on your tv size the quality may not be that good though.

Or what about a three way splitter? put two of the connections from each tv output (3/4 and UHF channel) while the other two goes out to the two tv's or use a splitter to connect the two tv outputs together then split them wherever you need to going to the different rooms. Would that work or would there be too much interference?

I don't understand why changing to single mode won't work for you. Sometimes what I do if I want to watch tv2 (living room) in tv1(bedroom), I'll go and record the show on TV2 and then go to my bedroom and watch it as it's recording. I do this mostly if I'm recording on TV2 and want to watch something else.

Sorry again, asked him why there was a need, what he actually wants to do is change an individual recording from time to time. something is set to record on TV2 (their bedroom), but when it comes time to record it, they want to watch something else on TV2, and switch recording to TV1.

I don't understand why you want to change outputs. Every channel that is available on Tuner1 is also available on Tuner 2 and any DVR program is available to both TVs. What are you trying to gain?

TV1 tuner output is in the living room. TV2 tuner output goes to the bedroom. While in the living room, using the TV1 tuner output, you are watching a show you like. Part of the way through, the DVR is set to record a different channel on the TV1 tuner, but no one is using TV2 tuner. Is there a way to watch what you want in the living room, without canceling the recording? Is there a way to set DVR to record one show on TV1 tuner, and then others on TV2, and back and forth? Or must DVR always record on the same tuner, whether TV1 or TV2? Hopefully this will explain this better, Sorry...

Did you try what I described because that's exactly how I use it? You can watch a program that is currently being recorded in either tuner. It's just a minor inconvenience to go to the other room and start recording what you want to watch.
