Hey guys,

I am trying to install my new DTV system. I have a DTV 36" Worldirect dish with RCA DRD430RG receiver. So I have basically 101 and 95 to get. I have 2 LNB outputs from the 101 LNB into the first 2 ports of the 6x8 switch. Then I have 1 output from 95 single LNB into the 3rd port of the switch. And all the other ports are open.

However I cant get any of my international channels. It doesnt even work when I type the channel #, says channel is unavailable. I tried everything. My settings have 3 options, round dish, oval 2 lnb, oval 3 lnb. I set it to oval 2 LNB and I even tried 3. Still no internationals. I have a good 96% signal on 101 but it doesnt even display any signal options for 95. Please help.

And if you do get a compatible receiver, I believe the LNB for the 95 dish needs to connect to the first flex port on the multiswitch.

The receiver is definitly capable. DTV said it is and I know someone who has it setup. So you want me to skip 12v 18v and go straight to the flex port for the 95?

the 101 LNB needs to be on 13v/18v, the 95 LNB needs to be on Flexport one. When your running the setup you need to "auto configure" The older boxes sometimes work with the flex port but you may have to run the autoconfig a dozen times before it finds it.

Which Switch do you have?

It'll work. The way the 6x8 was designed was for ports 1&2 to feed from the 99/101, and the 3&4 ones to feed from the 103/110/119. Flexport 1 is for the 95, and flexport 2 should be for the 72.5 although I'm not sure if it's still being used in other markets. It will still work if it's an older, non-wide band switch. I'm not sure which meter you are using, but if you are able to use it on the 95 LNB, I would do that as well to make sure you are hitting both birds.

I got my locals, but still no internationals. Is it possible maybe 95w satellite is not getting signal? I am getting 96% on 101. If I set the 101 isnt 95 automatic already? How can I see , when I go to signal meter it only gives options for 101 and 110 signals no 95.

Which brand meter are you using? It's usually the other way around with the 95 ODU. If you have the 95 satellite, you will have the 101.

EDIT: Also, be sure you have the appropriate tilt set on your dish depending on your location.

Not using a meter, I have someone in front of the tv tell me the signal on 101 while I point the dish. I got 96% on 101 not sure If I even got 95. How can I find out without a meter? from the receiver only gives signals of 101 and 110.

How about I directly connect the 95 lnb to the receiver and try and see if I get any channels?

I would do the initial setup for just an 18" round dish and attempt to peak accordingly. After you are locked on to the 101 and finish with the setup, you should be able to go into an auto configuration or an auto detection mode to search for the 95 satellite. Check your PMs, I sent you one so I can try to better help you point the dish by verifying that your tilt settings are correct.

Guys thank you all for your help. Now I have everything setup with my newer model receiver and get every channel. But with the RCA receiver for my second room, I cant get the internationals. Says channel not available.

That's the link for the user's guide on that model. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything about auto detection on the 95, and the pictured satellite options/choices are only for the 101, 101/119, and 101/110/119 configurations. I did see a section where you can tell the receiver that you are using a multiswitch, which may help and may open up another option to find the 95 satellite. Worst case scenario is that the receiver was never given a software upgrade to allow for the 95, or it was too outdated at the time to allow for the reception of that satellite.
