For some it is more about principal than about money.

If Claude gives him more than what he is entitled to then others will try to do the same to get more than what they are entitled to. Fair is fair.

I've always had problems with this. The customers that complain and are PITAs are the ones that get the better pricing than the "good" customers that come in, plunk down the money and follow the policies without a peep. It has always gone against my way of thinking. Essentially "cheaters do prosper" and it sucks!
