Do D* Subscribers "Move" Like E* Ones Do?

Just curious if D* subscribers do the same as E* subscribers and "move."

I don't think they do, at least not as much, since D* uses spot beams for all locals except NYC and LA.

Are NY HD locals and HD RSN's conus?

ABC/CBS/FOX/NBC from NYC and LA are CONUS on ch 80-89, they also have MPEG4 versions on the NYC and LA spot beams. As for the RSN's I think some like YES and SNY HD are now on CONUS, MSG is rumored to maybe go CONUS and then again maybe not.

Now if you move to NYC or LA I don't know if you get the MPEG2 verison on the ch 80 range or just the MPEG4 spot beamed version.

yes ill be moving back to montana soon
if no hd avail in your area you do get the 80s hd but only one set diff depending upon geographical location
moutain/pacific get la hd
central/eastern get ny hd

dont know if its as much, i did it once for game blackout reasons, but thats the only time ive done it with D* never have done it with my E* account

I 'moved' to Detroit to get their locals / RSN. I actaully only live about 10-15 miles outside of the DMA, so the spotbeam is my friend.

Do you mean like move but not really move? As in others have done more than once in the past and openly brag about it, to avoid blackouts? Then try to move perhaps this time for real and expect free receivers and complain endlessly when D* doesn't want to believe that person. That kind of move? Just wondering. Maybe D* has kept a record of the previous "moves" and has labelled this complainer as a fraud. Ya think?
