Nah. There isn't one person in my family/extended family sphere that would know or care if DISH has ESPN or the RSN's, I would be the most close to caring. Not one of our friends spends any real time watching sports other than football both College and Pro, with some exceptions like a hyped up game here and there. Don't need ESPN for most games. DISH has managed with one of the biggest markets not having RSN's and I along with some others here did not blink when they dropped one of the RSN's for the Boston DMA.
Drop prices by about $10 to $15 by not having them in the packages and lets see how ESPN/RSN's fares asking people to pay separately upwards of $20 because so many fewer will subscribe to it.
Not quite what I said though, that is a little different question but I will answer yes they would have a drop of something. What I actually said was taking ESPN and RSN's out of the packages, not Directv losing them, and you pay separately for them. In fact DISH to an extent does this now (maybe Directv does too?) by having a package without the RSN's and you save.
Plus the point of that post was sports is not what keeps cable/sat going and that as many people as you think would not be paying for ESPN and or RSN's if given a choice.
Disney will never allow ESPN to be put in a sports their, they want everyone paying for it. This is what I think the dispute is about.
Imagine all the KIDS across America they will have mad at them ....
Just think if they all left.

When I was a kid I remember Disney Channel playing cartoons. Now it's crappy programming.
I never had Disney Channel when I was a kid ... so, I REALLY don't miss it.
That said, the Movies in the theaters is where Disney made it's name back then ....
And for ESPN, it was barely started ... think I was 12 at that time.

Still service being delivered to the home ... so the cord is not cut ...

now past midnight ET, and the channels in this dispute are still on at the moment, but i give it 2 to 4 hours before they are gone, that's how long it took AT&T to take down the CBS owned stations and CBS Sports Network and Smithsonian Channel when the CBS dispute began.
it's past midnight now and all channels in this dispute are still on for now. i give it 2 to 4 hours before i can declare the dispute either resolved or gotten a short term extension deal to keep them on. as it took AT&T 2 to 4 hours to remove the CBS owned channels.
