Lost Chicago Locals!!!!!!

Looks like I lost ALL of the Chicago SD locals. They vanished since we don't have a 61.5 dish. Used to have one, but Dish took it down when we got HD.

I have OTA, but anyone who doesn't and doesn't have 61.5 .....

Well SD is just that SD and it will not look all that great on a HDTV.. Just another reason why at some point in the near future we should be back to one format all HD.

Can we keep the convo about the uplink and not misc other crap?

6799 HIDEF on 110W has "DISH Network HD Updates" Listed in the EPG, and its a standard def channel, so I'm assuming its there to tell you all about the HD additions.

I'm guessing that even if you have a ViP Mpeg4 receiver that you may need a new smartcard in order to see any of the new "Eastern Arc" channels.

If Dish intends to have a solution pointing at 61.5 they have to copy all the locals from 119/110 to 61.5. So, they would put all the standard def locals in MPEG-4 SD and the MPEG-4 HD locals all on a spot beam on 61.5. That way you do not have to have a dish pointing to 61.5 area and one pointing to 119/110. For a market like Chicago that is a lot of local stations in SD, and the big networks in HD on spots from 61.5. They are duplicating 110/119 spots to 61.5.

nothing yet, but They are still NA...I believe totally hidden!

With the RSN channel moves in Cleveland, it reads like they are taking them off of 129 and moving to 61.5. Is this actually a "mirroring" situation or is an actual removal from 129 and placement on 61.5?

Are Chicago locals GONE?

Let me know quick! (I'm at work and can't check...) This may be my key to getting my Dish upgraded to a 1000.2 and my 61.5 hooked up. :)
