Dish wireless usb stick

Put the wireless USB card that dish sent me but does not connect. I go into the broadband settings and only let's me choose moca and not wireless. Never got a message when I connected it to the receiver. I tried both ports. Any help would be appreciated.

It should work, not with wifi hot spots though.

Yes the wireless adapter does work with the Hopper.

Which USB port are you connected to? I connected my stick to front USB port & could not connect, however, when I connected to USB port on the back, it works fine.

My Dish WIFI doesn't work on my 2nd Hopper either. But I think I just tried the front usb port.

I don't think anyone ever said that it wouldn't work. It must not been too much of an issue since no one asked if it worked yet or not. This has been the first instance where someone has said they tried it.

Nice to know for sure though.

Didn't try the front port, but will try it when I get home. With the back two ports I don't get the wizard that is supposed to show up. When I placed the order they said it would work with the hopper.

The said they will be giving me a credit for the stick so we will see on next months bill. I have the chat records from online chat saying that I will be given a credit.

I hate to disagree with Zach, but I was told that Wirless does not work yet on the Hopper.

Thanks for the reply. When I ordered last night, the guy said there would be no charge to hook it up to the Internet, so I didn't know if that meant free wifi stick, HIC, or just plugging an available ethernet cable into the Hopper. Try to decide if I should do the work of running ethernet to where the hopper will be, using wifi would be way easier.

When mine was installed, the tech tried to use the Ethernet over power line, but couldn't get that to work. He installed the USB wireless, and we were able to get it to connect to my network. Did the network tests and it is connecting fine.

If the Hopper is already installed, then you're probably looking at a $25 charge unless you can make a case the installer should have installed it up front (which is a good argument IMO).

If it's not installed, then the tech should be able to include it as part of the install.

A wired connection is always best IMO. If you can run a cable without too much trouble I would do it, or have the tech put in the HIC near your router. I went the HIC route and am glad I did. There are reports that for now the HIC is needed for DLNA and other "connected" features like BB@Home from Joeys.
