the tech who did mine said he'd already installed USB sticks for few customers and it worked pretty well. Although i don't know how well he tested connectivity, but he did indicate it worked.
Started working today, maybe the restart helped it overnight. Thanks for looking out and following up Ray G
During set up, my tech asked if I was internet connected and I told him my 722 was connected with the USB dongle that Dish provided and he said "good, that works just fine". We connected in the back and it works just fine.
I am getting an install tomorrow. When I called dish to setup the order. I told them I wanted the home internet connector (MOCA).
Would it be better to go wireless? My thoughts are wired is better. I already have homeplug in my house and find that it can be a little slow. Wireless is good, bit is seems MOCA is really good.
I am thinking get the MOCA dish adapter, it will be good to have wireless, homeplug, and moca all available as options. Plus splitting traffic between different data link layers seems optimal to maximize throughput as each technology has bandwidth limits.
Thoughts?

wired to hopper(s) > HIC > wireless
wireless is the least preferred option on a technical level. Perhaps a few users of wireless adapters can report back with their real world experiences.....
It seems there's quite a few things that we haven't been told from the start, but have had to learn on our own.
I have the hopper/joeys set up. My tech didn't do the HIC (moca). He did wireless. He said that wireless was preferred method. He also said that hic, cable signal, and moca couldn't be on same coax. The wireless works good, but my joeys don't' seem to see the internet and won't do on demand.

He is totally wrong. The HIC can be on the same coax cable as the Joey. The HIC is also higher in the connectivity heirachy than the wireless adapter. I would contact a DIRT member and ask them to send one to you.

If I can get the hic. How do I get the moca signal bridged to the joeys?
I have Comcast over coax going straight to my office. The office doesn't have a coax drop that is bridged to the Joey coax run.
I assume I just use a splitter to combine the signals on the outside box.

My house doesn't have dedicated coax runs from a central panel. The only place my house had a splitter is attic for upstaged bedrooms. Right now the splitter isn't used and is capped.
So what I have is Comcast cable modem run to my office on one coax directly. The dish signals on on separate runs. There is no Joey or hopper near cable model.
In order for a hic to work I would need the comcast signal to be bridged to the moca network.

No, you would need a dedicated coax line for the HIC/Joey near the cable modem. You can't combine Dish and Comcast signals. Unless you can easily run coax to that room wireless is your best option.
