Dish trouble shooting issue

I was working with a friend
She was unable to tune in several channels due to an obstruction or signal loss message

She has eastern arc.. we did a check switch and the 61.5 satellite had no signal
She recently had a windstorm
Reset receiver..checked connections..verified issue on other receivers
She has vip 211k and a vip222

Now for the best part
Got a hold of tech support
I explaned the situation and explaned trouble shooting

Advised we had done a switch check and noticed the missing satellite
Asked for a tech to due a repoint
She has insurance for dispatch

The dish tech rep asked why did the check switch?.. She said it wasn't necessary

Am I the clueless one or is the dish tech rep an idiot?

I dunno but they are coming to repoint the dish

If you specifically stated that one satellite went missing after the check switch, then clueless rep. If you would of said all or none of the satellites went missing instead, then you can give the rep the benefit of the doubt because it could of been some other issue. But from what you are saying it sounds like clueless to me as well.

Philipino, mostly, CSR are about as clueless as it gets. They're a hindrance to the Customer Service Experience
