Dish Team in the Forum

Wow, 14 years, that means a lot to us as well!! Anytime I can be of service, please just let me know!

I think I go back even further. I started with both a 1000 and a 2000 receiver that I ordered from an outfit in NH. Had to install it myself. I had a BUD back then and both Prime Star and Dish had just started. It was when Dish dropped their price to a reasonable rate that I got Dish. And that was for one big reason, Empire Sports, so I could watch the Sabres. While I won't drop Dish, I may have to up my cable from Life Line to basic or digital to get MSG next fall

I had the same very positive experience thanks to Matt. And to add more kudos, the first replacement sent me was "DOA" as the CSR described it. Another unit was immediately dispatched UPS overnight, I received the next day before 10 am. Sterling customer service!! DISH can do many things right!

Wow, all these long term loyal customers really impress me. I was not even able to find out what "BUD" was or is! LOL I do know that locals, MSG, and SNY have been really hard on a lot of customers and hopefully this is something Dish Network can get resolved in the near future. I thank you all for taking the time to share your stories with us here. We really appreciate you all and are glad that you are all part of our Dish Network family!! Hope you are all having an awesome weekend!

I've had 7100's, 501's, 508's, 721's, 622's and now 722k's. Could not imagine NOT having a DVR any more. Even with the (imo) outrageous additional receiver fees, they still are the best hardware in the biz.

Been an 11+ year customer.

And a big Thank You to TonyT@Dish network for a great upgrade deal to get the 722K's.

I was one of those loyal customers since July 1996 when Dish had one bird and I was using very expensive Channel Master 1.8 M dishes. As of the 22nd of last month and being a never late, average bill of about 200.00 a month and owning all those expensive VIP receivers I was forced to cancel my sub. based on principles.

You figure that with the amount of cash being payed month after month you would get what is listed on the birds your pointing to such as 119/110/61.5, but no. They kept blocking our sub channels in HD. Puerto Rico became after all the talk in this forum, a second class market. Since I am can't do miracles and I got tired of begging, and since I don't beg, I terminated my almost 15 year relationship. Along with my cancellation I send them a very nice e-mail why I was pulling the plug.

If that's the way they think of us, o well. Many people on this forum still take all the B.S. Dish wants to give us in HD and are willing to wait till the year 2014 in hopes of something better. Who knows if by then mankind will no longer be around.

I have managed very well indeed since my cancellation and due to forum rules I shouldn't talk about what my solution was.

The bottom line is just like the founder of Wallmart used to say more less>>" a customer lost is a customer who over his lifetime could have provided us many sales over his/her lifetime " RIP. A man with a real vision.

RIP to DISH also. Von voyage.

Let me start of by saying that if it weren't for Tony, Dish wouldn't have me as a customer today. Yesterday I contacted CS via online chat and at the end of the chat, I told them I would be cancelling my contract with Dish. I first asked them that if I can order the cricket pack, after a few minutes the rep came back and said no because I don't have the correct dish set up and I would have to pay $195 for someone to come to my house and make the upgrade.

I explained to the rep that these channels are on 118 and 61.5 and I am getting 61.5 so I don't see why I needed an upgrade. She replied that these channels might be moving to 118 in the future so that's why I needed to change the dish. I told her when you change, I will then decide if I wanted to pay $195 for the upgrade or not. I felt like she wanted me to get the upgrade to get the $195 out of me so I told her I will be cancelling my account. She then passed me on to some specialist and we went thru the same thing. At the end, I told her I will be cancelling my account at the end of the month because I thought I had paid until the 30th. Her response was no, you can cancel now because you paid until the 18th. I was shocked with her response and was about to cancel when Tony got back to my via PM.

He went out of his way to get me those channels without the $195 and explained in detail and was upfront about all the fees I would incur if I did cancel these channels early.

I run a company too and I would hire a guy like Tony in a minute for his never give up attitude and thinking outside the box. He would be an asset to any company he works with.

TonyT at Dish helped me out and I am happy to say the best experience that I have had with a Dish employee since I joined in 2001. Glad you are on the Dish Team at Sat Guys. Great Job Tony

My team and I appreciate the comments, good or bad. A bad comment drives us to do better, and a good one keeps us focused and our morale up, and lends 'street cred' to my team here.

It has honestly been a pleasure to be here (and I believe I speak for all of us on that). If there is something you need, feel free to keep us useful in PM or threads!

Interestingly enough, my mom has to be on Satguys from my guesstimation. LOL I posted that comment and sure enough, my lunch break was eaten up with a phone call from her. WOW.
You would be surprised WHO is on SatelliteGuys. :) Met a few celebs and big wigs who are members here but want to be anonymous under a screen name.

Hey...Just a note to say thank you TONY!!
Tony answered all my questions in one short evening. Considering all I have been through with Dish...I was most delightfully surprised!
Thanks Tony...as my kids at school say.. "you rock"

Another 14 year customer, always been happy with Dish, the Dish Player was a good product had a wireless keyboard but the internal dial up modem was quite slow compared to good desktop computer modem. The man that originally installed my system would do installs just about anytime daytime nighttime did not matter if it was snowing or 20 below zero. This was back when Dish was starting to really take off told me he did an install at 3:00 AM to help a guy that worked second shift. There was a place between his store and my house that made the most delicious BBQ ribs he always liked to come over because it gave him and excuse to get ribs, called me one Saturday said he was coming over to give me a free check up told him was not having any problems said he wanted to get ribs and coming to my house was a good excuse. Only bad parts to this story his is retired and one of installers runs the business and the rib place went of business
