Dish recievers source code

FYI: Just found a page at http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/products/receivers/dvr/Sourcecode/index.shtml
where E* recognized that it uses Linux OS and discloses a partial source code for DISH 322, DISH 411, DISH Player-DVR 522, DISH Player-DVR 625, DISH Player-DVR 942, ViP211, and ViP622 DVR.

Wow, they actually updated the page on the OS's. I figured they'd stay with the linux based system as it has proven to be the better software for their systems.

Hmm, iptables is included? Looks like they're serious about doing something with that Ethernet port.

IIRC it was in the old source, before the receivers with ethernet ports. I would like to say dish has always had the intention of adding IP support, but that would require some serious forward thinking and possibly some planning beyond the end of the week.

Dish has been very good about providing this and I'm positive they've had this page, or a similar one, for 2 years or so.

that is the link to the 721 source. The 921 source is apparently gone or renamed to something non-intuitive

I had sent E* a request about providing the source to verify their compliance with the GPL a few weeks ago. It is good to see that the sources are now available. WIll have to pull them and look them over.
